Already posted a day or 2 back! As was the S9+

That was the blue Italian version whereas this is the purple international version. The price is lower too

It doesn't matter how much hype Samsung push out about this phone. It's …It doesn't matter how much hype Samsung push out about this phone. It's worth no more than £250. I'll wait until the hype dies down and pick it up closer to the price I consider acceptable.

Good luck.

To have decided it's only worth £250 then there must be equivalent devices available for £250 so why wait to buy this? Just buy one of the others?

One of the most underwhelming updates in a long time.

It's one of the latest flagships. £600 is a reasonable price for the latest and greatest features, see if you can pick up something of likes of an iPhone X for £250. Either way you're going to be waiting a while to get the latest high end phones at that price.

Im personally waiting for :-

4K screen for GearVR. Reduce screen door effect

Much bigger battery. Removable preferrably (but unlikely). My S7 Edge barely lasts half a day.

Fingerprint sensor behind screen.

Would luv the galaxy x fold in half prototype design but again unlikely.

If the note 9 doesnt deliver which again seems unlikely on all fronts.

Then i guess ill wait until next year and save me some pennies.

Well, i honestly believe that these phones along with others released are all way overpriced coz we as consumers agree to pay. Its a sad staye of affairs thats only going to become worse.

However, man you must be really dreaming to hope to get this for 250. Hell even the S7 edge that i have sells for way more after 3 years.

Well, that is how it works. You sell for what the market will bear!

But yes, your second comment sums it up totally!
Go for the International Version - The UK version has the Exynos chip which Samsung have purposely disabled all call recording software from working. I sent my S9 Plus back after finding this out and have now purchased a much cheaper international one with the Qualcomm chip in.

FYI - Bought the S8+ from Italy and it has exynos and can record calls
Holding their money as well as ever I see

Can you share a link for the s8 for £307? Based on your analysis, I. E. 1 year later the phone will drop near the 300 mark, so surely there must be deals for the s8 for around that! As much as we'd love to see that, because of the stupidly inflated prices of phones nowadays, which cost more than strong computing power and many don't last as long, it's what people have accepted to pay, hence, priced the same way too! (Also, mentioned above similarly).

Few years back I bought my Note 4 brand new for £420, now the new note is more around the £600-650+ mark even if buying from Gumtree or similar!

......and glass-less rear cover of course?

Just noticed the rear of my S7E has a spider-web crack across the entire rear cover despite having protective cover and clear plastic film since day.

Got unlucky I suppose and something must have impacted just under the flash LED through the cut-out in in the rear cover.

Total surprise when I found out though as I always make a point of keeping my handset in a different front jeans pocket to keys, coins etc.

I can only imagine I've leaned against something or something had banged into me and I haven't noticed.

Gotta ask, why the funk do manufacturers insist on glass rear cover as opposed to aluminium or some fancy alloy?

Where did you get the Snapdragon version from?

To be honest the real reason the price is so high is down to funding the expensive advertising and marketing of these. They are well made devices, but thankfully there is far more competition now.

These phones are made in the millions, so there is nothing special about owning one.

I'll grab something with similar spec, or wait until O2 have a warehouse full of them to ditch as refurbs.
silverred7 h, 15 m ago

Good luck.

Thanks. And I hope you and plenty of others find this at a more realistic price.

eblobalcentral, tobydeals - you need the 'G9650' model. I'm sure there's loads of other places selling them.

Tobydeals is cheaper when you use the code 'CART' - you get an extra 2% off, which for me was £13.80 off.
I've bought from them and eglobalcentral many times and have never paid anything extra.

Yeah, but that expired and was a different version at a different price.
... having read the Amazon blurb, it appears that you don't get the two year EU warranty with this... so it's basically a grey import sold through Amazon.
You might as well get one on eBay or Tobydeals for less.

Yea saw that code in another thread. So how many days did it take for delivery from placing the order?

I worked at the head office for almost 6 years of a UK network. Zero phone bills and handsets galore at no cost for the entire time. I know how it works, so I'm not getting sucked in by any marketing hype, ever.

Just buy one of the various Chinese phones that are out there with MASSIVE batteries - I just got a DOOGEE BL7000 from Amazon for under £120 that has a 7000mAh battery, 64gb space and 4GB ram. I'm also typing this on a £99 Blackview P2 that has same specs but a slightly smaller 5000mAh battery that I bought from Amazon myself a few months ago that gets a genuine 3 days battery life with my average usage. Any issues with either of them they will be returned to Amazon with no hassles up to 24 months and I can get on with my life ignoring the latest 'must have' update of the 'premium brands' using the £400 or so I saved

I'm looking for a new phone and reading reviews seems to tell you were the problem lies. Everyone mentions about phones feeling more or less "premium" and many say that glass feels nicer than aluminium.

Personally that all seems like nonsense as everyone I know uses a case so the cheapest through to the most expensive phones all feel like plastic anyway!
Does any one know the difference between the UK and Italy version of this phone ? Is the UK one worth the extra £100 And can you tell a difference when using it? Thanks

What are you doing to your S7 Edge? Mine easily lasts a day, have you turned all power management features off?
I have considered a OnePlusOne etc

But i use GearVR most lunchtimes to watch TV series at work.

I also download on it........ heavily

Like 500-600gb a month
