I upgraded from a Sony Xperia Z3 to a Galaxy S9 recently on the Carphone Warehouse deal.

After using this phone for a few weeks It doesn't feel like much of an upgrade.

Welcome to the new world of Phone upgrades, where every phone has been the same for years

Because phone technology doesn't move on very quickly now. You need to wait atleast maybe 3-4 years to feel any real significant difference (unless your phone has slowed down over time etc).

The next biggest technology move is flexible screen phones, likely not until next year though.

I know the Z3 did come out nearly 4 years ago, the S9 is a better device but because the Z3 is still relatively good it likely won't feel a massive difference.

Mobile Phones Direct(MPD) use DPD to deliver phones. DPD lost my phone. Took MPD 4 to 6 weeks to investigate and then stopped replying to emails. In the end i had to take them to small claims court to pay. Took 3-4 months in total and i was phoneless for that time.

Damn, I always hear good things from DPD. Seems like a really unlucky experience.

Think so? I recommend trying out the huawei p20 pro. I just upgraded from the z5. I've owned the z3 compact, z3, z5 and the z5 premium. The differences were noticeable within the first day. Won't be going back to xperia, any time soon. Not that I don't recommend them. They are pretty decent.

The Z3 design was old, but the technology inside it was already a few years ahead of the competition at the time it was released.

The differences between the Z3 and S9 are mediocre. Mostly design and speed.

Google Maps was the reason I switched. In the past few months it had started to become painfully slow on the Z3. Everything else was acceptable on the Z3. Even the battery was still doing pretty well.
Thw same S9 deal with mobiles.co.uk and up to £40 cash back with quidco.
ive bought from mobiles.co.uk and my Samsung was in the Samsung sealed box and uk spec.
Thwy are on Samsung's web site as a authorised dealers along with the sister company carphone warehouse

It's not nearly £900 just for a phone. It comes with a huge 30GB of data tariff too.

I can't disagree on the battery life. It lasts well. But yeah, S series just seems a repeat of it self.

Definitely depends on what you use the phone for, I personally felt a huge upgrade from the s7 edge.
The thing about the Xperia Z3 was it already had a 4K camers, HDR (not the display, just the camera). 3GB of ram compared to 2GB of ram on most other premium phones released at the same time.

IP67 which few phones had when the Z3 was released. 540 nits screen. Excellent camera. And a battery that outclassed every other phone at the time.

Sony dropped the ball big time on design. A bit like Nokia after the iphone was released.

The only people who don't really know how good the Z3 and Z5 were the people who never owned them.

I had a Z5 Premium but moved to a OnePlus 3 and now a OnePlus 5.

I personally prefer these phones over the Sony phones.
I don't see it has it expired
If you're not too fussed with the data amount (I rarely use the 4gb I have a month) this option is available on mobiles.co.uk. £110 upfront £23 a month, total cost of £662
