For me, I'd take the Nexus 4 and the change.
Hot for the price though.
CJ
these will come down in price when the s4 becomes readily available.
I'll stick with my s2 for the time being as serves my needs fine.
how long before cold, not apple, boring comments start??? :-)
It's a great phone for that sort of money. The nexus is a great phone as well but it just does not feel as nice as the Samsung IMO. 16gb is not much either for a smart phone with these sort of specs. With a bit of music, videos, apps and pics etc its gone in no time. Being able to stick in another 32gb card for only £15 is a huge benefit.
A friend has the nexus and having played with each others phones there is no doubt at all that the s3 is superior even aside from the expandable memory and changeable / upgrade ale battery.
Where from?
CJ
I love the "raw" android OS, having had Cyanogen Mod on my HP Touchpad for a long time now.
My kids have Samsung tablets and I find the Touchwiz interface bloated and clumsy.
CJ
I'd rather pay £315 to Asda, than £310 to e_cell.
I second that.
Asda Direct are extremely good for returns, no questions asked.
Nexus 4's screen isn't as good, the camera is awful, and the s3 is quicker when browsing the net; as for the 'rawness' of android, if that's what it is, well quite frankly you can stick it up your bum. She agrees with me, which is unfortunate after what I went through to get her it, but she's decided on either a s3 or ip5.
Technically, the Nexus 4 has a resolution of 1280 x 768, while the S3 has a 1280 x 720 display.
In any case, enjoy your "extensively use" of your wife's cast off once she convinces you that she needs an iPhone, women eh?
I do appreciate the @n@l insertion advice though, especially when coupled to your sound argument. Whereas once my anus was purely a one way street, you and your phone have helped me realise what I have been missing in my Samsung/iPhoneless back door sex life, and for that, I thank you sir!
I raise a glass to you and the A&E units up and down the country that will now surely be inundated with cases requiring removal of vibrating S3's from all manner of @rseholes.
CJ
As someone who's had an S3 for a year - I'd take the Nexus 4 in a heartbeat.
Samsung clog their handsets up with a metric tonne of crapware, their UI/interface is sluggish and the software you HAVE to use to connect/upgrade it is shonky and will take days of your life away trying to get it to work.
The only downside of the Nexus is no user-replaceable battery and no SD card slot. The latter is something you can live without for sure - the former might be a pain-in-the-ass at some point.
Not as much of a pain in the ass as Samsung's junkware tho
Because Asda returns are better than E_cell.
No it isn't. Asda has a better returns policy than the other place, no opinion is needed.
Yes. Its Sim Free.
Correct. You did not. You are probably thinking of the s3 mini.
Surely you have a friend who works for ASDA? 10% off ;-)
wow youre right....ta
I have consulted my crystal ball and it would not say and advised me to consider how the S2 price is holding firm after two years. It also mentioned that the person using the tag eatmorefish is about to meet a tall dark stranger. Yikes.
On a serious note, if money is tight, the S3 is available 2nd hand from smartfonestore at a lot less than £300. They are currently awaiting more A grade unlocked s3's but i bought one last year. It was delivered super quick, arrived in mint condition and is performing flawlessly.
Thank you very much..
How does that even work? Asda are selling it for £319.00
You can get 3% through Quidco and TopCashBack too! (_;)
Quidco is tracking at 3% for me - so potentially less than £319!
Is that including VAT and import duty? If so, what store? Kinda just gloating without leaving those details :P
