decent price for this phone

With a 4.8 inch HD Super AMOLED display, the GALAXY S III offers a large and vivid viewing experience. Samsung Mobile's heritage Super AMOLED display even enhances to HD and 16:9 wider viewing angles.

With the innovative smart stay feature, Galaxy S III automatically recognises when you are looking at the phone, whether it is to read an e-book or browse the web.

The front camera looks deep into your eyes and maintains a bright display for continued viewing pleasure

The Galaxy S III's minimal and organic design is reflected in its smooth and non-linear lines. Its comfortable grip, gentle curves and platinum organic form deliver a natural look and feel

In addition to recognising your face and voice, the Galaxy S III understands your motions to offer maximised usability. If you are messaging someone but decide to call them instead, simply lift your phone to your ear and ‘Direct call’ will dial their number

Doing things simultaneously on the Galaxy S III is easy and fun. With 'Pop up Play' and the powerful Quad-Core processor, you can watch an HD video in another window while sending an email or text simultaneously

Some people complained about not getting a Uk phone. Therefore, a slight chance you wont get a 2 year uk warranty. And phone must be sent to Hong Kong for repairs and you only get 1 year Hong kong warranty. Nevertheless, its a fantastic phone and price is great too

does this have a micro sd slot?
Yes i think so , upto 64gb. by the way this is also available on prepaymania @ £197 +5% Quidco. samsung normally gives you 2 year uk warranty, if you do not get it as soon as you receive the phone send it back to prepaymania as there is a 14 day money back guarantee.
Is there actually any such thing as "Super AMOLED"? I can't actually find any evidence of it's existence other than Samsung marketing sites. AMOLED yes. Super...? Hmmmm....

Why pay £200 for a phone 2 generations old ?

You could have had a Nexus brand new for £240 from CPW the other week.
Samsung is the new Apple. Time for someone else to come and conquer this ever hungry market for smartphones

please lead the way to your time machine.

on a separate note - it's not worth getting a grey import non-UK phone with all the hassle if anything goes wrong, even at this price
this is 3G or 4G? I Have s 3 but not support 4G ,only new model of s3 support 4G ,and it says on the box and back of the phone ,or go to setting ,about device ,model number , if it is GT-19300 supports ONLY !!! 3G , if it is GT-19305 supports 3G AND 4G ...be carefull what you r buying ...

It takes about 30 seconds of google power to find out that a Super AMOLED has the touch layer embedded, reducing the number of layers so reduces glare etc and therefore increases visibility in daylight conditions.

HD Super AMOLED is a branding from Samsung for an HD-resolution (>1280×720) Super AMOLED display. The first device to use it was the Samsung Galaxy Note. The Galaxy Nexus and the Galaxy S III both implement the HD Super AMOLED with a PenTile RGBG-matrix (2 subpixels/pixel), while the Galaxy Note II uses an RBG matrix (3 subpixels/pixel) but not in the standard 3 stripe arrangement. Two year old phone filled with Samsung Bloatware and probably won't receive new updates.

Grab a Nexus 5 for a bit more or a Moto G for half this price.

No way this phone is even worth £200 anymore, resale value of this phone has fallen too.
josho117

does this have a micro sd slot?

Yes it does

I know that, as I'm just about to sell my S3
Not worth this price at all, s4 is going for for a hundred odd pounds extra, the resale price of these is verrryyy low, max you will get in return is £150
Those comparing this phone to MotoG or Nexus 5 bear in mind that this phone has a superb camera and you put CM11 to get the latest Android.

Or just wait a month or two for kitkat to come out.

Personally I'd get the LTE version over this though, for not much more.
they are still selling second hand for £160 +

Moto G sucks terrible camera no replaceable battery no memory card slots

The battery is fine, it easily lasts a day for me. Its because it doesn't have any bloatware installed, pretty much stock Android.

Not much more is £100 more !!!
By the the way, no other smartphone outthere give you 2 year warranty, except mayb Sony, not sure.
Finally, there is Quidco cashback tracked at £9.89. Which makes the final price drop to about £188.

Was £220 last time I looked

No one would pay £300 quid for it given the current prices of the S4.

You are right, Mobicity has a good price i noticed. Not a bad deal.

This is still a great price though if you don't want 4G and would take the better battery life albeit with less RAM.

I would probably urge people to pay the extra 20 quid and go for the 4G model though if they plan to keep it for a couple years.
Still a great phone IMO at a good price. The removable battery and SD Card slot gives the user more options and the camera is pretty good, better than Moto G's that's for sure.
Still a great phone. Price a bit steep yes but worth it I reckon. I've been running Cm 11 and it's very fast.

As for those saying use CM11, that's great unless you want to use half the features of the phone that don't, and never will work, fm radio, mhl hdmi out etc.I've used my S3 and setup and used a family friends Moto G, apart from the camera and micro SD, the Moto G is leaps and bounds ahead, stock android updates faster than nearly any device out, incredible battery life, amazing specs, good build, cheap price.

Well neither of us know for sure whether it will get the update. I'm of the opinion both the Note II and S3 will.. I bought my mother a Moto G and would still take a S3 over it, especially the LTE variety. Camera is actually pretty important for a lot of people and the Moto G one sucks. Similarly an SD card is a nice option and the battery becomes a non-issue if you carry a spare.

They got greedy and the price has gone up; £212.14 now! Should be marked as expired!
Apparently prepaymania is banned on hukd , i was going to post the pebble blue version which is £197.97.
I have a Galaxy S3 AND a Nexus 5! The S3 walks all over the Nexus for quality and most of the "bloatware" can be disabled. The S3 does have an SD card slot and can take a 64Gb card. My whole music collection in FLAC...heaven!

S3 has a wolfson chip which can decode FLAC directly, by hardware, so the battery lasts very long when playing FLACs. The sound quality is amazing too comparing to other models.
