I don't think it's the lte version
The LTE has 2gb ram so it's not.
Nexus 4? xperia sp?

Nexus 4? xperia sp?

If the nexus 4 had expandable memory, removable/upgradable battery etc it would be a good alternative.

buy the 32gb, use the money saved to buy a external power supply. The nexus 4 is much faster.
Bought the phone so I am looking for a paper guide.

Anybody bought one from WHSmiths?
There seem to be 3 options but is not obvious if they are mainly for the S4 or include galaxy tabs.

Any recommendation for a magazine/manual for the S3?
I just assumed that these where 4g am I right in thinking that? I'm with 3 with unlimited data and apparently we will be getting 4g for free so I'm looking for a upgrade.

Much faster? Really? Doubt it a lot.
The nexus 4 is only faster in some benchmarks, the exynos cpu in the S3 is faster at java and some other benchmarks.
The nexus 4 is newer, it has a bigger processor and twice the ram..it also has the newer android software.. its quicker!

S3 = Quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A9
nexus 4 = Quad core, 1500 MHz, Krait

I've no idea, which is best? the link you put up mate basically says one as FM radio and the other don't lol.
Also won't the nexus 4 get google updates a lot quicker than the s3?

Pffff, the s4 pro cpu in the n4 destroys the exynos in the s3. It's almost identical to the one in the galaxy s4 (in architecture). And don't get me started on the gpu, which is more than twice as fast. The nexus 4 averages 10,700 points in 3dmark whilst the s3 4,700.

The only benchmarks the s3 will win in area because of software, Samsung is particularly good at browser performance.

Would you recommend a Nexus 4 over a S3 then mate? I'm looking for one at the minute and was hoping it would have 4g but i've been reading and it looks like 3 will only provide 4g in my area in 12 mths+ so will probably be in the market for a new one then.

The nexus 4 is able to do LTE too isn't it, it just needs enabling?

Not an iPhone.

Not an iPhone.

Bonus!
The nexus 4 is not for sale brand new in the UK any longer and is probably not coming back. It doesn't do LTE either, the short answer

The oppo R819 is £226 and has reasonable reviews, just to add it into the mix. and no, oppo is not a generic chinese brand

The R819 is a great looking phone. I would be concerned that it would be underpowered with only 1GB of RAM. I'd be more interested if the price dropped down to around £150-£175

the nexus 4 isn't 4g but the sp.
If you want 4g go for the xperia sp. Fantastic reviews, great build, expandable and 4g. It's a dual core but it's a higher clocked next gen s4 pro again so it'll outperform the s3 too, it also uses the same adreno 320 found in the galaxy s4 and nexus 4, HTC one etc.
Is any difference between this and the Tesco deal? Or is the Tesco one LTE?

Are you 100% sure about that? There seems to be a lot of info about saying that it is but not FEC regulated something to do with keeping the price down and it can quite easily be enabled.

Well it has the capability but its very limited and does work on some Canadian LTE networks and maybe the odd US network. I dont believe its limited LTE is going to work on the UK bands however.

Although this was the last I read a while back

It had the hardware but as mentioned, it wasn't authorized so to speak, works on a few LTE bands but from what i've seen none of them match the UK spectrum - besides I believe Android sent over an OTA to disable it via the OS level (though im sure there's ways round that in XDA and the like).

Although the S3 has probably more features (sd card, removable battery, FM etc), based on past experiences the Nexus will be supported far longer in terms of software updates while Samsung tend to drag their feet on it (though s3 is getting JB which is nice and gives even less reason to get an S4 right now).

On a personal note - i find TouchWiz to be slow, buggy and generally awful and I would recommend that you flash an ASOP rom.
