Sorry, I did not realise they made this same phone in a smaller size, just assumed that the only one they made was 6.7"
so it is 76 mm wide , yet my 6 inch redmi note 5 is 75 mm wide

what is the point of a bigger screen if all goes into the extra height of the phone,
mi max 3 is 87 mm wide

We use our phones in portrait mode most of the time, well I do. Having a taller display means you can see more with less scrolling

That's interesting, never noticed it before.
On my Note 9 I have 411 dp by default. How much should I increase the value without having weird surprises? Does it need rebooting or is it immediately changed?

I'd increase it 10 at a time until you find the perfect value. You shouldn't need to reboot the phone.

I did increase to 420 and the screen started flickering a tad with red flashing colour. I had to put it back to 411 and to reboot. I might have to try it with different screen resolutions to see if makes a difference.

I settled with 455 dpi, which is the maximum value before the homepage got shrinked, however the settings weren't applicable in all the power modes available. No more apps to be downloaded just for scaling like in the old days, thanks for the head up
