Hi All,

John Lewis is currently price matching with Carphone Warehouse for Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 tablet 10.1 inch with Wifi. The benefit is that you get 2 years warranty from John Lewis against 1 year warranty of Carphone Warehouse. Additionally John Lewis give 28 days change of mind option against 1 week change of mind from Carphone Warehouse.

The price has been confirmed with John Lewis Cribbs Causeway in Bristol. I believe other John Lewis stores would also price match if you can get them to speak to this store. Stock available.

My first post so please be easy on me.

Samsung tablets all come with a 2 year warranty...

If people did not buy this for £150, why would they pay £238 for it? You can buy a 1 year warranty Ipad for this money.

Think youll find this was after a £50 cash back from samsung which is now finished

I see people are referring to the deal just before Christmas where this tablet was available for £195/= and there was £50/= cashback available from Samsung on purchase of this model until 31-December-2012. However that is now long gone and there is no cashback anymore from Samsung. This is the cheapest I could find with this warranty. This deal is for the people who missed the pre - christmas offer.

Also with regards to the Samsung warranty, its for 1 year and not 2 years.

"The European Directive 1999/44/EC says all EU countries have to ensure a retailer could be held liable for all "non-conformities" which manifest within two years from delivery.

However, because the Sale of Goods Act (SOGA) meets or exceeds most of the directive's requirements, this overrides the EU directive. The act requires three things: the goods must be as described; they must be of satisfactory quality, which is determined by description, price, durability, freedom from minor defects; and they must be fit for purpose.

Because manufacturers tend to give one year's warranty on goods, retailers will usually push you in their direction if the product breaks inside the first year.

However, SOGA provides cover for goods bought for up to six years – in England and Wales. This means if a TV fails after 13 months, you still have rights. Assuming the item has failed through no fault of yours, and it was "reasonable" to expect it to last longer – given its cost/quality – you should demand, under the Sale of Goods Act, that it be replaced or repaired by the retailed, not the manufacturer. Once the item is six months old, the onus is on you, the consumer, to show the item failed as a result of a manufacturing fault."

read into that what you will. retailers will normally give you 2 yrs when pressurised.

This is deemed as a mobile phone type device by Samsung so it does have 2 yrs warranty as standard.
