honestly I wouldn't touch the seven inch very slow!

£69 for new customers using code TDX-RDWA

Agree. But a branded tablet that's not a refurb for £69 is not too shabby.

My wife agrees, she said she's dissatisfied with seven inches, needs at least eight, and has got her eye on a 'big black ten-incher'. (Nexus 10?)

I pointed out that she might find it tiring to use something that big but she just smiled. My wife is strange.

She also doesn't exist, obviously.

P.S. 125 'likes' for this post, which is basically an extended nob joke?

P.P.S. extended, know what I mean? Nudge nudge...

Thanks Ordered one ! My MemoPad goes back to Amazon

I don't like 7" form factor, and it's not the best spec, but at this price it's hot for others.

just ordered thanks and thanks to oddballjamie for the code :-)

Is this deal Instore as well??

Does this one come with built in and GPS Thanks

I wouldn't touch one of these
Trying to get my daughter to get rid
Slow unresponsive and laggy with a terrible screen
Better spend a bit more and get the lg pad 8.3

Voted hot for the price though

Well, it is a bit shabby if it is indeed very slow, regardless of brand.

By little bit more you mean £50 more?

So slow that FiFa 14 on this has a permanent 2 second lag...
Don't see why this tablet exists....!

Samsung Galaxy 3 Rooted with custom ROM == As powerful as any other tablet with similar specs !

mines been fine , no speed issues
but then I don't play games

pantaiema ... it does have gps and it works well

Great price thanks

Great tab for surfing the internet, emailing, watching movies etc. Don't let the nay sayers put you off. £69 is a fantastic price. I thought I had snagged a bargain when I paid £85 for one.

I'm hoping this will be better than the rubbish moshi monster tablet we bought for our daughters birthday. Any ideas if its any better?

She only wants it to go on a couple of websites and rest will be apps.

Its more than sufficient for kids ! Way better than any other ones if buying for kids !

I have this tablet and think its great. No problems with it at all and for £69 you cant go wrong

People who are complaining about lag etc...........just install a third party launcher. If you are a techie

1) Root it.
2) Install a custom ROM with custom Kernel with Kitkat (hoards available on XDA)
3) Enjoy !

I disagree my hubby has this tablet and he has had no complaints and has no issues with speed either

you do realise that the Samsung has a much poorer spec than the memo pad.

badgerrules

you do realise that the Samsung has a much poorer spec than the memo pad.

Agree with you but

1) £20 Extra.
2) MTK drivers(no kitkat custom ROM, less development support)
3) Thicker.
4) For my daughter so specs don't matter much.
5) OTG support.

IMO if you a power user wanting better specs go for LG G Pad (£109 on tesco direct) and dump the ASUS anyway.........

True, it will be as powerful as any other tablet with similar specs, but...

a] the MemoPad is superior to the Galaxy Tab 3 in nearly every respect, so I don't see why you would go with the Samsung over the Asus.
b] not all hardware performs optimally in certain configurations, so even though a 1.5GHz processor might be faster than a 1.2GHz processor, the Quad-Core beats the Dual-Core when it comes to performing tasks, so the 1.2GHz processor offers better performance.

versus.com/en/…8gb

sorry I misunderstood obviously if you paid full price for the memo pad and have the chance to get your money back this is a good deal. your also right your daughter will not notice the spec difference.

I wrote similar specs :).......ASUS has better specs anyday

For all the people saying it's slow, just root it and put Cyanagenmod mod on it... That way it will be so much quicker

I have photo of the reduction instore too - Tesco great yarmouth

Both my girls have one of these and use it for games and watching movies etc with no problems

Great deal.

The MemoPad does OTG, how is that a bad thing? Also, why would your normal consumer want to install a custom ROM on their device. Most people barely know how to use OTG, let alone flash a phone and install custom ROMs.

I bought my MemoPad when it was £69 but I got it for £59 with the new account code. The MemoPad is £20 more now as Tesco only, but at every other retailer apart from Tesco the Galaxy Tab is £30-40 more than the MemoPad. Case closed

Just get the LG G Pad 8.3 for £40 more. This is a piece of junk.

Bought this tab last year and wasn't that impressed with it to start. Then I downloaded Nova Launcher to replace TouchWiz and it's like a totally different tablet. Fast and responsive and has only frozen up two or three times in the four months since using Nova. It's well worth £69 / 79.

I've had this since the December price reduction, and can't believe some of the comments about the performance. Mine runs without any kind of problems, and without any need for the sort of tweaks some people are suggesting. I can only think those with performance issues have either overloaded it with loads of apps they use once in a blue moon, or are trying to run powerful games that would tax any tablet. I will happily pick up this tablet for email / browsing / games / evernote work, and link it with a mi-fi device to use "on the road" when I don't really want to take my Ipad with me.

how do I root it please. no idea with tablets/laptop's.

Not the posters fault but HUKD have posted it on Facebook with a stated price of £69 which is a bit of a misrepresentation.

Someone doing that on the boards here would normally be shot down for it...

Grumble over... Good deal... Heat added
