thanks op just ordered. got fed up of waiting for the very deal from yesterday. just checked my orders with them note added credit rejected although i paid in full. looks like they will no honor any of the s3 tabs they sold

I think this sums it up well, from Tech Radar (who gave it 2.5/5)

"There's no getting around it - the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 is a deeply average tablet that's been way over-priced by Samsung. Its specs aren't really good enough to show off the best of the Android platform. In particular, the tablet's 1024 x 600 display seems like it's from a bygone era before 720p YouTube videos became the norm. It seems to actively discourage protracted web browsing sessions, too, which is surely much of the point of a modern tablet.
But then, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 isn't really a modern tablet - it's a reminder of the way tablets used to be in the not-too-distant past. If you want to see where the next generation of Android tablets is headed, check out the similarly priced Google Nexus 7."

Even at 'half price', I'm not that keen. I thought Samsung were supposed to be the innvoators?

Good find OP. Interesting to see the 3G one is £230! oO

Is it not better to go with TESCO to get cash back and points???

I'd say it's better to just buy a different tablet lol. Still, half RRP for a brand new tablet ain't bad. Guess they read all the bad reviews and acted accordingly

hey- you knicked my deal - posted this on a couple of other threads last night, now it's got it's own thread lol. typical.

Heat from me, Ordered thank you.

any advise gratefully received as I was going to buy 3 for my grandchildren up to £150 ish

Great deal, I've been looking to downsize from my current Tab 2 10.1" (it's too big for practical usage and the recent OS update has destroyed its battery life). Traded-in my Tab 2 for £110 at Fonebank, and now have a nice 7" Tab 3 and eleven pounds in my pocket

Are you going from personal experience or "Geek" reviews because I know quite a few people who have these and don't have a bad word to say about them? A couple prefer this to the ipad? oO

Good price, so heat added. Sadly it's not a great tablet. Minimal improvement from the Tab2 and below spec from the Nexus. But hey buy it as presents and you'll be loved.

puzzled by the excessive heat tbh

this is about the price the tablet should be

agree, imo samsung are falling, they were once setting the bar for spec for price, but now they are just releasing lots of low spec products with inflated prices because people will buy because everyone is Samsung fans

Play with them both Tab3 and Nexus 2013 or even the Nexus 2012, you'll notice a great deal of difference. The screen on the Nexus is miles better. the general speed is better. The Tab3 seems a bit morse flashy but the Samsung bloatware actually makes the Tab3 a little laggy. If you don't compare it against another tab and use it in a 'virgin' state, you'll probably be happy. However, that's not the whole story and you are buying an inferior product.

You can't argue with the price though. half of RRP in matter of a couple of months, ain't bad.

I have to laugh at the 'better than iPad' bit. Clearly these people don't know how to use their tablets. Any iPad wipes the floor with the Tab3. Even the iPad Mini first gen destroys the Tab3. BUT you have to bear in mind the cost difference, the iPad Mini is at least £200 as opposed to this at £100.

Ok thanks for the info, I don't have either but considering going in for a Tab, I have a Galaxy s3 phone and used to have an iphone but I personally wouldn't go back to iphone now. Was curious to see if the "galaxy over ipad/phone" applied to other peoples thoughts!

Doesn't seem to be any deals on the 8" or 10" Samsung tabs :-(

My brother just got a Tab 3 7", I've had the Tab 2 7", only difference seems to be 1.2ghz dual core cpu instead of 1.0ghz dual core. Its still a bit slow once its fully updated too, bit laggy in places, might even be a RAM issue. He's waiting to see if I get a Tab 3 10.1 from Very and will take it back if so, otherwise I told him to take it back and get a refund and get the Tesco/amazon one for £99 (he paid nearly £130 for his) since his gf wants a Samsung one rather than no name brand.

The Galaxy Tab 8.0 is a bit better spec, and better screen I believe for around £179.

I have one and love it. Good screen. I use it for hours every day and it never freezes or crashes. Typing this on it. I am impressed with the overall build quality.

I haven't used a Nexus so I can't compare it to that. Best bet is to go to JL, Currys etc. and have a good go on them all.

I do think it is good value at this price. Ipads are good, but in terms of value for money I prefer the Samsung. My kids have the 10', but I prefer the smaller tablet as it's more portable.

Np, I now have the nexus 7 2013 and its great but I kinda want to try a bigger screen as I've always had 7" screens. I was looking at the tab 3 8.0 when it was £250-260 but it must have come down recently. Still not sure though. The LG G pad looks high spec, but a bit pricey. I guess I'm waiting for a good offer. I like the idea of 8" since its pretty much the same size as 7" and not huge like a 10"

I actually got this for my neighbour and it seems pretty good, if you can live without it being a well known brand (in China and maybe US? it is apparently) its pretty much same spec as nexus 7 2012 but with mSD slot, mini hdmi. Also 32gb is pretty good for a tablet this price. There were only about 2 non stock android apps on there and one of those was an office suite, so probably handy.

could anybody tell me the difference between this tablet and the Lenovo A3000 7 inch tablet also same price on Amazon? Which has better specs/better purchase? thanks. was wanting max. hard drive space and decent camera - this isnt better than the lenovo is it?

Lenovo is better, it has more "hard drive space" (16gb vs 8gb) and faster processor (well more cores) and higher MP camera - which means its probably better.

Thanks OP. Ordered. Its a decent buy for our needs.
