Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 Tablet, Samsung Exynos, Android, 8”, Wi-Fi, 16GB

Available in White, Black or Brown for £149.00 and in Red for £199.00
Comes with a 2 year guarantee as standard, being John Lewis.

John Lewis are also a registered Quidco partner (but can't see any cash back rates at the mo), given that they track your purchase, Premium Quidco members will also receive a bonus 10% cashback as per Quidco's current promotion

Have been comparing these on and off throughout the day and don't recall seeing anything around this price aside from Tesco in-store, which I personally would rather go with 2 years warranty over a few clubcard points.

The same tablet is currently advertised at £199.99 on Currys' website:
pcworld.co.uk/gbu…tml

I was lucky enough to have been bought one (and a nice samsung cover) for xmas by my girlfriend, however think I'll send it back un-opened and take advantage of JL's pricing. Effectively works out as a free cover!

** Alternative: Galaxy Note 8" **

Browsing Currys' website I did notice this one with a few perks over the 'Tab' :

Samsung N5110 Galaxy Note 8" 16Gb White @ £199.99 !

pcworld.co.uk/gbu…tml

Seems a very good price at the moment

Hope this helps someone out there!

Anyone who may be interested in the Samsung covers, here's a direct link to the one I have:

johnlewis.com/sam…ite

As above, if you pick up the tab for £150'ish, you can effectively say the cover's free

2 year warranty from Samsung anyway. Don't matter you will buy from jl or tesco.

yep 2yr warranty no matter where u buy

But JL warranty is generally soooo hassle free, I think I'd go with them rather than through another supplier with just the Samsung warranty . . .

Does this come with a free 16 gb memory card like the Tesco offering?

Yes it does...

Do all Samsung products come with 2 Year warranty's anyway, my S4 and Tab 3 7 inch do as standard but batteries just 6 Months ?

Ingore already answered lol too much xmas spirit

Nonsense. Wherever you purchase if it goes wrong you have to take it back to the store and they will return it to Samsung for repair. The warranty and repair service is exactly the same.

Sorry, but this is untrue to some extent at least. I always buy laptops from them for their guarantee. After a year and a half my Toshiba started overheating and breaking down randomly. Took it in and the guy couldn't see anything wrong and it was working fine then. Despite this, he offered to take the laptop and then gave me a temporary one to use. The laptop had its motherboard and CPU cooler replaced (presumably by Toshiba) and then John Lewis phoned me after three days to collect. They also replaced some broken keys and cleaned it out. This is unlike any service you will find anywhere, say what you want but they offer much better customer service than most places. (As someone who works there), this is offset by some of the crazy prices the items are at, but provided you pick it at the right time (I only buy my laptop in the boxing day sales and buy the "special buy" one) then its definitely worth it.

Compare this to my brother who (stupidly) bought an external hard drive from Currys. It was very temperamental and eventually stopped working after a month. He took it in and they refused to fix it or refund until after 30 minutes of arguing the manager told him they could only replace it. It was only after I went in the next day to the same manager and had a go at him (about the service not the product which wasnt his fault) that he grudgingly gave me a refund.).

Ok, you might technically be covered for 2 years elsewhere but its a lot easier and hassle free via JL over elsewhere. NOTE: I accept there are plently of faults at JL but to the main, its customer service is second to none.

Cold for 2 year guarantee, not enough.

I am not trying to knock JL but every day we get numerous deals on here all about Samsung tablets all the same deal and same price. The majority use the reason to buy from JL as the fact that they and only they give a two year warranty. This is nonsense and as I stated the warranty length and repair service is the same wherever you purchase it from. The fact that JL may give you extra is a separate issue, but there is no guarantee that will happen for every repair.

big man!

tries one out in PCW today and to be honest it just felt like using a giant S3. Screen is pretty low res compared to the Nexus 7 but this is a good price none the less.

Samsung gives 2 years guarantee for their products anyway.

I tried one out today at Argos and like It very much. And brought one from the tesco deal today which Is on here. To me the screen Is fine for me thats just my opinion.

Screen simply not good enough for this price

I have got one, and screen is great: bright, good viewing angle, good colours, sharp.

Resolution is actually better than the original iPad mini, and is surely not an issue in actual usage. When showing it to people, nobody has so far complained about the screen, the look of the device or its speed, so it's a great purchase.

Note the phrase "actual usage" above...

Amazon now have the black one down to £149.99 for those who were waiting like me.

The 10% Quidco is a bonus on top of the normal commission earned at a retailer by the look of it. 10% x 0 doesn't amount to much unfortunately!

Been trying purchase Samsung Galaxy Note 8 at £199 since yesterday. Currys out of stock instore & online, same at PC World. Tried 100 mile radius store without joy. Sold out at John Lewis & now price online increased. Amazon the same. Has anyone come across Note 8 at £199 elsewhere?

Tesco the best deal with the £10 off E-voucher. Got myself one today for £139 and collecting tomorrow.
Thanks OP (even if I have purchased from elsewhere!)

Yea, but I think they push the pen function a lot. Still, with a custom rom on it would fly and just be a normal tablet.

how come its £199 when I go on the john lewis website?!!

dose any one know if I can still get the galaxy tab 3 8.inch for £145 ?coz when I go on their website its saying £199

is it still £145 for the tab3 8inch

£179.95 dispatched & sold by Amazon, if it helps:

I would've thought the 'January sales' will see it back below the £150 mark if you can hold out a little :-)
