I already have a 7 inch HP Slate and the screen on this one seems a lot bigger even though the physical size is not much bigger than the slate and with my "Old" eyes it certainly is a lot easier on the eye!

The extra inch makes a huge difference

good look with your new one from asda, loads reports of broken seals, customer service awful, expecting my replacement to be the same

luck*

does anybody know is a quad or dual core

still a slow tablet :-(

Around the waist, Yes it does.

10 days to get money back. about 3 or 4 to get back to asda. 3 for them to bother checking it in. 3 to gett back in your account in my experience.

think it's dual, but easily one of, if not the best spec 8" tab for the money, hot hot!

Yes it's a dual core.

I missed the previous offer but not this one, I just ordered mine!!!

How's the colour if anyone has one?

What colour is it...couldn't see it in the description on yhr Asda site

Orderd thanks

The extra inch diagonal adds 30% to the screen area. (The area is the square of its length, the volume is the cube of its length.) It does make a magazine page or an A4 (original intended format) PDF document significantly more readable on an 8" compared to 7". You can simulate this readability by opening a A4 PDF document and fit this to an 7" screen. Then draw on a piece of paper and cut out a rectangle like your 7" screen and increase its diagonal by an inch. Finally zoom in your document on your 7" screen till it expanded to the area of your 8" screen paper cut out. For a 7" to 10" the area is doubled. (The maths is roughly 10 divided by 7 and squared.)

Is it black or golden brown?

MUCH better than the awful tab 7 and the screen size does make a difference. If you don't mind the smaller size, Advent Note 7 is more powerful than this with the same resolution. If want an 8" panel though and you can stretch to £199 the LG G2 offers so much more for the extra £70 in terms of a stack more power and a 1080p screen.

thats not strictly true, the areas is the length x the width, I was more after if the extra diagonal inch gives much of a differewnce in day to day use.

as a bonus fact, did you know a square is a rectangle but a rectangle doesnt have to be a square! fun!

Not strictly true?! How could you? This is school maths in geometry, surprise yourself that it is true by cutting out two rectangles with diagonals 7" and 8". The calculate the ratio of the two areas. The increase in area is 8 divided by 7 squared. Back to topic with no maths for quantitative evidence, the (30%) bigger letters and pictures do make subjectively better viewing and easier on the eye.

i thought you meant length as in the longest edge, not the diagonal distance

Ordered one of these on Tuesday, arrived Wednesday morning. Looks really nice with the bronze/brown colour scheme. Both the seals on mine were intact and also came with a 16gb microSD card. Would highly recommend at this price.

Nice

I currently have this device. im very happy with it. Screen size is great, also pretty clear considering the resolution is less than most top end tabs. I had a Nexus 1st gen before and find the tab 3 better. Even tho its dual core the speeds are perfectly fine in my opinion, plays most games ive tried very well incl Nova 3.

Nice clear screens on them too
