The Hudl 2 and Lenovo Tab S8 are better and faster tablets.

Don't let the Samsung brand fool you, this tablet is worth no more than 60 bones

The 7 inch versions of Samsung's Galaxy Tab line are an odd thing. The specs between each entry are barely improved yet they still sell them for the same high price.

animal or human?

is hudl screen good? the impression that I got about cheap tablets like hudl usually have very bad screen, after a while the touch screen becomes really hard to use. is this not the case?

I have the 7" tab 2, have had it for a few years now and to be honest it's still excellent.
I hacked it with a simple to follow online how-to guide and removed all the bloatware and found it to be very responsive.
I didnt realise it was that ill thought of.

You don't happen to remember which hack you used do you? I have the 10" Tab 2 and the lag is starting to bug me, it's time to clear down the apps etc but may as well hack to remove bloatware at the same time.

Same here but have just traded it in against a Tab S 8.4 for an outlay of £129 after rebate and S is sooo much faster

I simply typed "Tab 2 root" into google and all the best hits were from XDA developers site, I followed the simple instructions and then went batsheet crazy in removing bloatware.
Too crazy in fact, I have an error on google playstore that means I basically cannot use it, but I now use Aptoid which is infinitely better anyway, and now that it's rooted I can load apps that are shall we say, not approved by google or samsung, such as what was cartoonsHD etc.
I also removed a program that turns out to be needed to record photos from the camera straight to the internal memory but that's no loss as I think that peop0le holding tablets up as cameras look like idiots.

A quick google of "Samsung bloatware" gives a pretty comprehensive list of what can and can't be safely removed.

All in all best thing I did for my tab

Excellent, thanks for the info. I was concerned about loosing functionality by removing something when I'm not sure of it's purpose (like I did with one of my old android phones), I will look for the bloatware list and check out aptoid.

Thanks.

I basically use my tab2 to watch TV or films in the bath or to cast films to my TV using "Twonky server", what app you happen to use to cast is your own business cough, showbox, cough

Excellent price, shame it's not black. Bought two of these last week for £119 at John Lewis, really nice tab. Good build quality, looks nice, quick, responsive in use. Kavaj do a really smart leather case for it.

Wifi signal was weak on ours though, which apparently can be a problem with Samsung products. I've moved the router which seems to have helped but still this is a little annoying.

Legend! Hopefully John Lewis price match that.

Just wanted to say thanks to Canary0500 again for pointing out the black one was the same price, got my refund from John Lewis today, I wouldn't have checked otherwise. If anyone is wondering, John Lewis do price match this and they have a two year warranty as well so it's a great deal if you get it from them.

Okay, I was at tesco leytonstone collecting my airfryer. The guy in front of me in the queue collected 20 of these tab 4. He had 10 different collection codes he'd written on a piece of paper, each code for 2 tablets. He used to give the code to the woman behind the desk and she used to fetch 2 tablets at a time. After he was done (took a while as you can imagine), I asked the woman about the tablets and she said that the man paid £27 for each of the tablets, she didn't know how, but said she's going to report it. I've done my research but haven't been able to find any way to get these tablets at £27... that'd be deal of the year. Can I ask my HUKD forumites to help find this deal if it is still live?

Bones?

I had 2 hudl 2's for the kids and hand numerous charging issues and apps not working. Took them both back and got 2 Galaxy tab 4 7".

Only had them a few days and they seem more stable than the hudl's

why didn't you ask the guy what deal he had and where? I mean if he was buying 20 of them surely it might ring a bell to ask him.

maybe it was an online voucher code? Did he pay there or just picked up

The guy had a dodgy look on his face.. kinda 'don't mess with me'. Rather avoid that!

You could've offered to take a couple off him for say £35 each, he makes a small, easy profit and you get a bargain. Win-win.
