Note that this is the 3G model. Yes I know it's still very expensive for a 7.7" tablet but look at the SuperAMOLED screen.
Not seen it anywhere else in the UK for under £500
If anyone can get this cheaper please let me know as I want to order one today!

cheaper here ? … cheaper here ? £366http://panamoz.com/index.php/ipod/samsung/samsung-galaxy-tab-7-7-16gb-wifi-3g-wifi-android-tablet.html

Yes but that is a grey import

I'd rather buy an iPad for this price.

How much? This is too much for a 7 inch tab.

I personally prefer the new Asus Tranformer Pad TF300. quad core processor, ICS, 32gb storage, 15 hours battery with dock, support Flash, DLNA compliant, has both micro SD slot, mini HDMI, USB ports, and full size SD in dock. Same price as the basic iPad but with so much more.

i agree at 484 is bit expensive and I would buy the new ipad as well, brought one for the wife on the weekend and internet browsing and amazingly fast, although a work mate has that samsung and the screen on it is amazing and sharp, its a nice size to can slip into a large jacket pocket and very slim.

also panamoz are pretty fast on the delivery as mate received in a few days.

Ah yes, but can you fit an iPad in your pocket? I currently have both the iPad and a 7" Galaxy Tab - I always carry the GT around everywhere. Much as I like the iPad I don't want to lug it around under my arm or have to get a man bag.

Again, fantastic Tablet but can't fit it in your pocket. I use both full size and 7" for different purposes.

Since posting this I have to admit I'm leaning towards the grey-import option as I've been reading great things about Panamoz.

That was ridiculous - I waited until it went down to £299 a few months later.

I've just ordered from Panamoz for around £377. It is a grey import from Hong Kong, but I've decided I'm comfortable about the supplier. I hope Samsung in the UK will be prepared to mend it if it ever goes wrong or the battery needs changing.

I think the freezing cold rating is unjustified as this is the cheapest price in the UK. I'd be interested to hear why it was down-voted. This is a premium 7" (well, 7.7") tablet, and I admit that the current price is still that of 'early adopters' (though the damn thing was announced way back in November)! Over at Engadget they rate this as the best portable tablet:

Doubtless now that I've ordered it the prices will plummet by hundreds!

The conclusion I came to is ff you can comfortably afford it and can justify the cost in terms of what you will use it for, then it has no competitor. I've been waiting since September for either the price to come down or a similar one to be released by another company. This has not happened nor does it look likely as the battleground for portable tablets appears to be the budget-end as mobile phone screens get bigger. I'm done listening to the 7" iPad rumours!

Yes there is a rumoured iPad mini and a Google Nexus tab made by Asus. They are both going to be 7" and less than £300.
