Depends what your everyday tasks are I suppose. My Dad got one of these about 4 months ago and it's fine for what he uses it for. Just fairly basic things like web browsing, checking apps such as skysports, bbc sport, lottery etc and playing games such as cover orange and watching netflix. Think he uses it for reading books on the kindle app too.
Great for this price. I need a tablet to replace my old broken Nexus 9 and am tempted by this

Yeah, that's what I meant. It depends on what you need it for. Not many peoplel do so little, that 2GB woulnd't be an issue for them
I've got the 2016 version and it's a fantastic tablet and still going strong.

I have to disagree but each of us are entitled to our own opinions. Majority off the people do little and a small proportion do more. My son has 1gb and is fine for him and his games. I have a 10 year old iPad and is fine with me.
If I need to do something more serious, I use my PC or laptop. My laptop is only i3 and 4gb ram, again people suggesting 8gb ram is minimum requirement, but for me is sufficient.
I work with children and older people, most 9f them are using basic tablets for surfing the net, ordering shopping online, watching movies, watching shows on line and some basic games such as Mario.
I agree 2gb ram is better than 1, 3 is even better, but if you don't need more specs, why waste money. The proportion of people using basic tech is high, they are the majority.

2gb is more than enough for a tablet as long as you're not playing high end games and multi-tasking at the same time. This tablet can happily juggle between chrome, Facebook and YouTube for example. At this price it's a steal and the screen is fantastic for movies.

The average android app uses about 300mb of ram and a tablet doesn't have to use resources related to phone calls, SMS and carrier services. You can do plenty with 2gb of ram on a tablet.

See, I think the difference is that a tablet with 2gb might be fine IF you have another device that can do more, like a laptop or iPad.

If you plan on only using this tablet with 2gb, then I think you are going to be disappointed.

Anyway, you pays your money and you make your choice

Excellent deal. Thanks OP 🙃
Is this better than the Huawei T5 offer that just expired yesterday?

Anyone? Also how does it compare with m5 lite?

Yes and no, the T5 maybe a better tablet, it's got 3gb ram for a start, but Huawei don't do updates on tablets very often. The other thing that worried me was the fact that they have developed their own operating system so I'm not sure how long they will keep up support for Android.

I went for the Samsung as it's easily powerful enough for my needs, and it's got Samsung backup and runs a newer version of Android (I think).

I do think the T5 is a good tablet, especially for £120.

As you can see from the benchmark scores the Samsung performs better. The Huawei has an extra gig of ram however which means you can jump between more apps without them having to reload. Having said that with the Samsung tablet you can happily multi-task between 3-5 apps smoothly - I really don't think the average user needs more than that.

The other reason to choose the Samsung is far better software support and higher app compatibility as Samsung tablets are the biggest seller in the Android tablet space app developers focus more on Samsung devices.

I'd definitely choose the Samsung tablet at this price

If you're mainly going to use it for watching films/YouTube etc.
The speakers on the Tab A are side firing, you get no sound from one side.
It's better to try it out in store to see if you like it.

M5 lite is the best, which has Harman Kardon Quad speakers, great quality.
