I bought the Xperia Z3 compact last week from Very with no issues and today noticed that the 4G/LTE version of the Galaxy TAB A could be got for around £187 with the new customer discount code of CPXM7.

I bought this for my elderly mum a few weeks ago for around £230. I stuck a PAYG sim into it and it is really responsive and she loves it. (I 'm new to 4G!). Good for someone wanting a basic tablet for web/email etc. It suits her because it is light and more portable than her 17" laptop which she rarely used.

Hope this helps someone.

I'm sorry but this tablet is waaaaayyyyyy overpriced.

1024x768 screen
Snapdragon 410
1.5GB Ram
Android 5.0.2

If this was 2012, this maybe a hot deal. 2016, Cold.

Maybe all the cold voters could point me to a cheap 4G 10" tablet alternative?

By the sounds of it the Lenovo S8-50 i got for £60 from Very some times ago is better then this tablet. This looks a lot better Lenovo Tab 2 A10 £179.00 and there is a £10 voucher: KDH3M.

Yeah, I would also like that. Heat added.

We are unlikely to get this info from the Ready Fire Aim brigade who shoot something down without reading it properly.

Would it not be cheaper/better to have a 10" wifi tablet just tethered to your phone? Or failing that, one of those portable wifi hotspots? I voted down as the tablet is pretty much a Moto G 4G from a few years ago scaled up to 10". The resolution is OK on a 4.5" Moto G but dreadful at 10".

I take your points, however for the intended use, quick and easy internet and email access for those eg elderly requiring basic access, it is perfect. My mum is 74 and she struggles with technology so I needed even contemplate explaining tethering to her or hotspots. For her needs its is superb. I was actually surprised how good it ran and well the screen looked. I myself would be happy with it. I only posted this for people looking for this type of thing. Just because it doesn't fit your requirements is not a reason to vote cold. I don't vote down car deals because I'm not looking for a new car. Anyways if one person finds this via a search and finds it useful i would be content

Yes, I think for a 74 year old, screen density isn't going to make a difference. If you don't have wifi, I can see why these tablets could be attractive even though the premium is high. I voted cold as 98% of people do have wifi which makes this poor tablet poor value.
