You get a 2 year with Samsung as standard
John Lewis, so isn't that 5 year warranty as standard? Or am I incorrect on this?

Get a good sd card

And then try and persuade Samsung to allow adopted storage of sd cards on their tablets like most other manufacturers allow otherwise you'll still fill up the inbuilt storage with apps because they can't be stored on sd card.

You also need to merge your existing storage into the sd card,if you have done it properly when you go to menu > storage it will only show as one single larger volume at the top.
There is a setting called 'migrate data' to do this on the storage setting.
At least that is what works on my Lenovo tablet.

I did that formatted card as internal - have 17GB used of 75GB and still get errors associated with lack of storage, very poorly implemented

Mine was the same until I clicked on the 3 dots on the top right of the external sd storage tab and then clicked 'migrate' it took quite a while to complete but after that everything worked correctly.

Faulty / counterfeit sd card possibly ?? maybe try formatting it and start again, like I said mine works perfectly in both my Lenovo tablet and Xiaomi phone.

many things could go wrong: card is botched, software updt went wrong, software interaction, but if phone is out of warranty then it's worth rooting anyway as it will have massive security holes, follow guides on XDA
These are good I got one from argos ebay refurb for £129 but was like brand new much better than the lenovo tabs

I got my hubby one for Chrimbo & he can hardly use a phone so how do I get him into this? What's the 3 dot thing? I'm pretty good when it's explained
