I like ipadsfor tablets but this is a good form factor. Fyi argos has it at the same price but JL has better customer service.. might get one as a present..

Can anyone comment on how it handles video calls? 2gb ram should be enough

Hi MrSwitch or anyone else. I recently purchased this model the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1-Inch 32 GB Wi-Fi version from Amazon for £179 last week. Do Amazon price after purchase or do you have do the trick of returning and buying at the £159 price? Thanks

Tablet is a generic name for devices that are bigger than phone but smaller than laptop. Ipad is the apple's tablet brand.
This one is from samsung. Apple tablets(ipads) run apple software, but rest all including this one run another software(android)

You can watch now tv, netflix on any recent android tablet including samsung ones like this.
People say apple's tablet (ipads) are easy to use but its a personal preferance, ipads tend to be expensive.

Thanks for the idiots guide mate. I had an iPad just for watching UFC app on. Unfortunately my IPad doesn’t support the latest update so I just want something to last for 2-3 years where I can watch UFC, Netflix and now tv when the missus is watching something on the tv.

Ill get the 10" , have a 20 quid JL voucher off hukd flamedeer to use. Cheers op.

Your ipad isnt supported? Well you must be using like a 7 year old ipad. Just buy another one like an air 2. They're under 150
Performance wise, would this be worth the extra over a Fire HD 8? Just bought another one last week and the lag is getting to me.

(I'm not expecting miracles for sub £100 but it's pretty much double the cost of the Fire).

Thanks

Amazon tablets are less for performance and more for reading books etc. Samsung trumps it imo

Sorry I'll elaborate - I've used the Toolbox to strip the Amazon back of the bloatware and using Play Store instead. I know from experience that that Play Store (and services) was like the kiss of death to a Fire 7, it doesn't seem as bad on an 8 but it's still laggy.

From what i can tell, this tablet and the Amazon both use a Cortex A53 but this one is clocked at 4 x 2ghz (versus 4 x 1.3ghz) and this has 2GB of RAM to the Amazon's 1.5GB.

Just wondering what it translates to in real life usage (e.g. Chrome, YouTube). @trex what did you go for after this?

I have both, it's quicker than HD8. But not much.
Out of stock
So Adding the current year to old products does sell wow.

Didn't know we're still in 2019.

Hehe, I know what you mean. This looks like something made nearly a decade ago.

If it's only 3 years old itll still be supported unless its one you bought second hand that came out way before that

I have this tablet and the Fire 8 - the Samsung performs far, far better. I took the Playstore off the Fire 8 and sideloaded apps through APK mirror and it performs much better now but still not as good as the Samsung.

Yeah I’ve had it 3 years, it’s not 3 years old, I’m not sure what one it is, bought as a gift to stream football by the ex missus. That’s why I’m looking at this deal, I don’t need a super duper iPad, just something to watch UFC and Netflix apps really.
