Just saw this in the O2 store looks like pretty much the best price at the moment for a pay monthly Galaxy Tab S.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S is shaking up the tablet scene with an ultra-thin, lightweight design and colorfully brilliant screen that blows the competition out of the water.

The 10.5-incher isn't the only tablet with a spectacular display -- the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 and Apple iPad are two of the most notable -- but of all of those the slates, the Tab S takes the cake. Its pixel-packed super-AMOLED screen boasts richly saturated colors and deep contrast levels, resulting in a visually immersive user experience and HD content that looks better than real-life.

Just bought the 8.4 version, amazing screen

This is a good deal! the 4G Lte version on this tablet costs around £480 alone! but it will probably be voted cold.

That's what I thought, it works out to £408 for the tablet then £15 a month for the internet.

Think there's possible £45 quidco too.

What ram is in this..have read 1.5gb and also I think on cow site it says 3gb.

Is the 4G 8.4" available yet.?

Very tempted with this tablet. Is this the best deal at present?

Can you do like the other refresh deals and pay the tablet off after a number of days? so you get the tablet for £408?

It appears to be 3gb of ram, this is the best deal I can see so far but a lot of phone companies don't carry this device yet.

It does have 3 GB RAM. You see 2.7GB in the settins. From this, samsung bloatware takes up 1.5GB straight out of the box. Install some apps and 2.1GB is used with 0 apps running. So you are left with around 600 MB available ram.

Can the bloatware be uninstalled?

Nope. You will have to root your tablet. I didn't want to void the warranty though. I tried a different launcher (nova) but the magazine UX seemed to still be running and consuming RAM. I'm sure this tablet will fly with cyanogen mod but why pay the premium to samsung if you aren't going to use their features ?
The screen is amazing, I can't even look back to my LG G2. But the performance is a big let down. Amazing on paper, but just ok in real life.

I disabled a fair few pre-installed apps , put on nova , i am sure i also disabled the magazine app. , used clean master to show me which apps can be disabled , then i went through the list of things that where shown as running in the settings and disabled some more , saved plenty of ram

I was wondering about the same thing
Would really appreciate if someone could clarify this
Cheers

Also do you guys think 8.4 would be good enough in size for watching movies as I tried 10.5 in pcworld
I think it's fabulous however it is still big compared to 8.4

The RAM is not "taken" - the apps are pre-loaded in RAM - they will be unloaded if foreground apps need the RAM. As with most OSes the idea is that the RAM is fully used (e.g. disk cache, buffers, pre-loaded apps, etc.) rather than free doing nothing.

As others said you can disable most of the bloatware and they won't get loaded - although still taking space in storage.

I'd say only you can answer that. For me I'd say 8.4" is good for travelling while 10"+ for home use.

The original 8.4" was optimised for portrait use (speakers at bottom, etc.) while the new 8.4" S seems optimised for landscape (e.g. speakers at each end) just like the 10"+.

Always looks cheap when you look at the monthly price!

I know what you mean but this tablet alone is £480, so the extra works out about £12 per month for 3gb of 4G data and thats not too bad to be fair.

Looks cheap compared to an iPad.
