I've got the tab S3 but trying to decide if it's worth the 'upgrade' to tab S4 or even this one!
Seems to be out of stock everywhere
Normal price and currys dont have any black ones. Samsung shop does for the same price and some argos shops have the silver version

I was exactly the same and just got the 5e. I'm not sure I made the right decision yet if honest. Hardware is good. Feels nice in the hand and screen is great. Not HDR certified on Netflix yet which would be nice to have.

Performance wise it's a little laggy. Well not laggy but just not as smooth when loading apps and switching screens. Ever so slightly slower than what I'm use to.

Going to see if it settles in after a week or so before deciding to return or not. For reference I got 128gb version with 6gb of ram so assuming all lag is processor related

Not bluetooth 5
Got this from Samsung pre-order. The tablet is awesome, may be actually TOO light and got enough grip. Excellent screen though.
I would love this, have the original 10.5 Tab S and it has been great but only 16Gb

The design of the s4 is a bit old fashioned when you see the 5e in comparison. Much smaller bezels and feels better in hand. Have a look at the 5e yourself first. I'm either going to settle with this or wait to see the S5 and what it has up it sleeves
Can't get my head around all these models, looking to change from iPad to an android tablet. Nearly got a S4 the other day from Samsung store as they said that was latest, but now come on here to find an s5 and it's a lot cheaper ??

This is an S5e which is mid range rather than the S5 which will be the new high end flagship tablet when released later this year. The S4 is still the flagship, but the latest tablet they have released is this, it came out last week.

This is what I've replaced my long overdue Samsung tab pro 12.2 with and it's great, faster, lighter and the price is great, especially with all the offers on at the moment.

Huawei mediapad tablets have an issue where using Bluetooth and WiFi together slows down WiFi massively, just Google it. And there's no headphone jack so you HAVE to use BT earphones

Save your money I'd say mate, not worth it
Isn't this RRP?
Is the deal here, considered to be topcashback?
If so, I don't consider it a deal personally.
About a year ago, I closed my topcasback account because they didn't pay out a Curry's cashback offer on an Xbox one X. Even if you are lucky enough for topcasback to pay out, you'll be waiting about 5 months for it, and will almost certainly need to chase it relentlessly.
There's also a very deal for 10% off, which would be honoured. That's a better prospect than this in my opinion, though also hassle.
Are there any deals on this that don't involve non existent cashback or creating credit accounts with very?

I've got the same one but had the opposite experience. I like to have a tablet especially when going away but I don't constantly use it so I can't really justify the price for the 'flagship'. I had the Tab S and was looking for an upgrade. I didn't want a tablet as cheap as the tab A so when I saw the S5e I thought thats a much more reasonable price and bought it! I was worried about the processor but I must say after using it I don't notice it much at all I find it really fast and smooth. I even compared it with my S10+ and didn't notice much in it. For me a great purchase and would not want to spend the ridiculous price the tab S5 will be when it comes out and I think a lot of people will be the same. For me Samsung hit the nail on the head with this tablet hence why its out of stock!

I think the issue is supposed to be with the shared BT / WiFi antenna, rather than due to a frequency conflict

But unfortunately not a 12 incher which is important to me. I went from an original 10" tab to the 12 and it's so much better for sofa surfing, I really don't want to go down in size, or swap to windows either

The S models are Amoled. This has a lower resolution FHD+ screen, yet the screen is still premium compared to none OLED gear.
It's worth looking out for Tab S4 clearance offers coming up.

Edit - must have misclicked. This is a 1600 x 2560 screen.

This S5e has exactly the same screen as the Tab S4. Both have the same resolution and 287 ppi which is higher than any iPad as far as I'm aware.

Tab S4 is worth seeking out if you need S pen, or if the headphone jack is a deal-breaker. The processor is slightly more powerful but older and less efficient. For many this S5e will offer much of the same experience, whilst being thinner and lighter, at a lower cost.

Yes, my spec reference was wrong. The extra high resolution makes it a unique OLED bargain.

Also, it is a very usable 400 grams in weight. My 500g + Tab A gets ncomfortable because of its 525g weight.

I also was in the exact situation, had the S3 and was looking at the S4 but my main objection was the weight. The S3 was at times uncomfortable to hold for longer periods, and the S4 is even heavier. I'm not sure the S5 would be any better. My absolute requirement in a tablet is the AMOLED display and the S5e fits that perfectly.

Also found that it you reduce the animation speed it will speed up transitions animation like switching between apps and loading menus and the like
