One for Team Samsung today after 2 dominating iPad deals earlier

Base mode of Samsung Galaxy Tab s5e but to get this for £301.10 if my maths checks out you need a TopCashBack account who is currently running a 10% cashback promotion, and also submitting your purchase to Samsung to get another £40 cashback over at samsungcashback.com/offer

Hope this helps someone if no one has noticed the promotion stack. I understand not everyone has a TopCashBack account though so I think this deal may not be as good for some.

edit: thank you to the kind mod that corrected my title. I will keep this in mind next time for better readability/understanding!

S4 is the better tablet by a mile, I'm not sure why a S5e exists when a S5 doesn't.

Heat if you can get this for £301 though.
I've got this tablet after much hesitation and am quite happy with it. Although, its not perfect.
Got a Tab S2, never buying Samsung again.
Just google how many people are having slow charging problems with their S2 after updates.
What have Samsung done about this.........nothing.
Takes a whole day to charge.
Avoid.

I bought it recently and it's great. This is a good price.
I traded in a real old ipad and that reduced the price further at Samsung online.

The cashback process is really quick to process.

I've had no charging problems with my now ancient S2 T715 dogswotsits. Which model do you have?

Mine is a T813,

also seems to have quick discharge too,
not impressed
Samsung galaxy fan when it comes to phone but tablets it's apple all the way for me I'm afraid .iOS is built for the tablet and Android for phones .

That's what they want you to do and why the bring out these "updates" to stop things working and slow things down

I didnt think updates worked with battery charging, not sure the s2 has QC 3, much better tablet overall anyway.
I bought an iPad Air 2 over 5 years ago, yes it was very expensive but amazingly it’s still good as new. I want to like Samsung etc products but everyone just seems to complain and has to replace every 2 years. I know my iPad will conk out one day, but stories like this put me off. Great price though, wayyyy cheaper than my iPad!!
Omg I want to use my Staff Discount but I can't because it's online
I've had the original Galaxy Tab S for years - absolutely faultless picture, but in the last year I have noticed like a green tinge to all the movies playing (and main screens although not as obvious) - but very obvious in dark scenes where blacks are pixlated/greenish/very low resolution.
I later read this became a common problem, but no matter what I do.

Personally I would love another one of the same - in working condition.

I had an ipad 3 that put me off apple totally. I was all apple until that point.
Currys PC World are awful payers on Topcashback - so bear that in mind - lots of bad reviews on Topcashback of them
I have a Tab S2 8 inch edition. Charges super fast, loses 2% battery when not in use for a whole day from morning to night... mind you I don't have Facebook on it... heard that is the biggest battery draining app on all android devices. Maybe just remove that those of you who are having fast battery discharging issues
I have one of these and it's excellent in terms of speed, battery life and screen. Very noticeably quicker than the S2 I'm about to sell.

I had the tab 10.5 s and it just keeps re booting. Taken it to 2 places and they can't fix it. Was just outside warranty to. The tab itself was good though but not sure if I would buy again.

When did you buy it? The tab S2 came out in 2015 so if it's charging slow or dying fast that's likely the battery (or the charger you're using with it).

Others have expressed using the charger that came with it as the problem so maybe try there or trade in and get a Huawei or iPad (as much as apple are a closed system their tablets are faultless and not that expensive).
TopCashBack only shows 1% cashback, not 10%?
Just in case people aren't aware the Cashback is available on the WIFI and 4G versions of the tablet, even though the Currys listing for the 4G version doesn't say it.
It's also 10% cashback on Quidco if that helps anyone

I'm amazed Samsung even updated it. You'll get 6 years worth of updates from an Apple iPad judging by how many updates the iPad Air 2013 got and 2 years from Samsung on one of their tablets if you're lucky.

Why pay this when you can get the M5 10.1 huwawei

Maybe factory reset, then turn off updates? If thats possible
This charges very quickly and lasts for ages. Best sound on any tablet I’ve had. Turn on Dolby Atmos to improve further. Picture exceptional. It’s honestly better than my £750 47 inch LG 3D Smart TV for sound and screen.

I’ve not used the latest ipad. Sound and screen on previous versions I’ve used doesn’t compare in my opinion.

Samsung speakers all around
Edited by: "graaus" 5th Jun
I'm in the process of sending one of these back.
The screen quality is excellent and so is the sound.
It's often laggy, and i assume that it will become more laggy as it gets older. The processor isn't up to the job in my opinion. As an example, the dolphin gamecube emulator works fine on my current s10 plus but is almost unplayable on the s5e (admittedly with racing games such as wave race and f zero).
Other concerns are that android apps are not optimized for tablets.

You're better off getting an iPad to be honest. Samsung will probably just end support for this after a year but you know Apple will support their products for a good 4 years. The Snapdragon 670 isn't very powerful too.

In my own opinion, you're better off getting the trade in deal that gets you an iPad Pro for £399
Mines fine. Sounds like a comment from an iPad fan

Same here, I can't fault mine, I prefer it to the S4 which is fat and heavy in comparison. Its very light, very thin, great screen, 4 awesome speakers, perfect for a media player device and the games I play I don't notice any difference to my OnePlus 6 which is plenty fast enough. I got £50 trade in for an old android tablet and £40 cashback. Plus 3% possible quidco cashback.

I bought Ipad Air 2 four years ago and it is still like new, everything is smooth and fast. I don't regret.

I agree. I bought a Samsung Tab Pro, 5 years ago. They never bothered updating Android which is stuck on Kitkat, and crucially no security updates for the last 4 years. At least with Apple you get propper support as you said - at least 6 years after they stop making it.
Still looking for something to replace my venerable Google Nexus 7" 2013. I just use it for media viewing.
Got one of these from eBay last time they had the electronics %15 off and it's a brilliant fast tablet. Went up from a Tab S2 and very happy with it. I did manage to get it for £240 though but was prepared to pay full RRP on release, glad I didn't but it is worth it.
I have been thinking about this one but always going back to the Tab s4 because of the better processor and can get it for potentially 300 used with pen and keyboard with SIM card as well

Lenovo Tab 4 8 Plus? It's a bit long in the tooth now, as was priced better a year ago, but it'll do what you want. It has support for Widevine L1 DRM, which Huawei lacks. Without it, some streaming services (e.g. Netflix) won't play in HD.

Samsung are still updating the Tab S2 "regularly" in spite of it being 4 years old. But you're right that Apple's support for the iPad does seem to be significantly better than that for any Android tablet, past or present.
Best (spec/performance) Android tab in this price range at the moment?

Very simple fix for that Dogs, just get the latest full Samsung rom for your model variant off Sammob, flash it (after saving any junk in your trunk off the device if you need to OR back it up to google smoogle!) and it will be lean and clean, got 4 S2's in and around the family, NONE as in none, have any issues charging and all run as smooth as peanut butter jelly

Love the S5E and even though the S4 is better, its still a lot more cash to outlay!

No, Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 you can pick it up second hand for just over £300, if you wanted second hand which is always best as can save a lot of money! Or Samsung Galaxy Tab s3 which is just over £320 new..
