Really?

I'll be honest, my son had this tablet and while it was ok for some things, overall it wasn't. better off spending the extra and getting a hudl2.

Another vote for the Hudl 2 as well, much better value for money especially if you have clubcard points

had the Galaxy Tab 2 since new, (now upgraded) and mrs has this tab 3 and neither of us have had any issues at all with each.

They are low-mid end tablets with reasonable performance but great value for money.

I dont get your comment at all!

I would agree for £99, but for £59 it is hot from me.

I'd rather pay an extra £20 for a reburbished Hudl2.

i upgraded my Tab 2 to a Lenovo S8 which has the edge IMO over the Hudl2.

Got any links to good deals on the Lenovo S8 riccom?

When it came out I nearly purchased one but decided on a samsung tab 3 8 inch, as I wanted a bigger screen which cost me £149 at the time

Really is a rubbish tablet! bought one for my daughter 2 years ago for £79 new at Carphone Warehouse. 9 months later i sold it for purchase price and bought Hudl 1. So much better. Samsung was lagging so bad even for basic games. Not worth it even for a 6 year old. AVOID.

the 600 resolution put me off when it came out and looks like i made the right choice

I used to be a big fan of the hudl2 but I have had 1 of mine go for repair 3 times in as many weeks, this time when the guy picked it up he commented that this was the fourth one he had to collect that day in my village. With a pop of 5000 that's worrying! At this price the Sam is hot, pity though it wasn't the tab3 8 inch.

I believe that is fir the Tab 3 Lite, not sure what difference there us between the normal 1 and the lite too he honest, I did the same as allowed, I picked up a Samsung Tab 3 8.0 for £70 of eBay and it was pretty much like new, not a mark on it, and u think it is a great bit of kit, certainly better than the nexus 7 2012 I previously had, which basically turned into a very expensive brick after it updated to lollipop!!

Bought one of these today for tablet.. Good portable stand works for ipad too..

Currys and PCW were doing £20 cashback, it really is a stunning tablet.

We got given one last week, glad I didn't pay for it. It's very laggy. I have a Nexus 4 and am used to the speed of that and this in comparison is frustratingly slow. £59 is a good price but I'd advise testing one out before buying.

Agree with most on here, if you require a tab for basic browsing, snap it up for £59, but if you're looking to do anything more on it, avoid it.

Good luck with it.....poor screen, processor and full of bloatware = very laggy ornament....cold

It really isn't a good tablet. My wife has this and I have the 8" version which is so much better.
My sister in law also has this and my bro cant believe how crap this is compared to his Tab 2

Paid £64 for it brand new from Tesco & happy with it. If I need something higher spec, I would've paid an extra £x for ir

exactly, if you are expecting lightening fast performance with a dual core cpu and 1gb of sys ram then you are not doing your research in tablets beforehand.

Its a capable tablet for browsing, music, video and the odd game which is exactly what it should be used for.

have had one for over a year. it served us well. plays most games the kids are interested in although some are starting to be incompatible. It's a wee bit slow here and there but for :-& 59 it's OK.

And that's all we've done with it. Some people expect Ferrari performance from a Morris Minor...despite paying for a Morris Minor!!

Every time this tablet appears in a deal I get so angry that I ever bought one in the first place. It is so slow, loading apps, graphics, even just moving round the interface - dire. Avoid at all costs.

some of the comments on this page defy belief. I had a Tab 2 (let alone a Tab 3) running the latest version of KitKat and even that ran all apps and performed fine.

Seriously, if you know what you are doing and learn how to operate an Android OS and a few tweaks to Samsung's in-built software/apps then it really shouldn't be a problem.

What are you people doing with these tablets!

I have a tab 3 and have never had a problem with it, I have read comments regarding how slow it is and that's not the case at all. I sometimes wonder if it is possibly user experience that may be the problem.

User experience? Maybe the lag is normal to you, but it certainly isn't for me. I click on Chrome for example and it hangs, eventually it will load the app. The tablet had been factory reset when I got it, so rogue app's couldn't be blamed for the laggy performance. I Googled "Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 laggy" which came up with several similar posts, most of which suggested changing the default power saving setting to improve performance, which it did, slightly, but it's still laggy compared to our smartphones.

Yes user experience, some people install all kinds of rubbish they have no idea about and expect things to continue to run quickly when most of the time the issue is with the app installed and not the device.

Why do you need an additional browser (for basic tablet use, as this is intended) aswell as the stock browser?

They are not 'rogue' apps, they are Samsung's built in apps (often known as bloatware) that need stopping and disabling. Like i said, users need to learn how to operate and maximise the Android OS, especially on a slightly lower spec hardware device such as this.

Power settings wont enhance performance apart from prolong the battery. Most smart phones now are quad-core cpu based which makes the comparison a touch inaccurate.

What's the specs difference between this and the Lite version at Asda?

Seriously would not buy one of these. I ignored the negative comments but should have listened. Very slow, screen does not recognise a tap, or does when you hover over it rather than press it.
