these watches were selling for £129 on argos ebay site. new galaxy watch 3 is out. so watch out for more deals on old stock
Rupert9504/09/2020 10:04

are these any good?

I've had mine for nearly two years and love it. The latest Tizen OS update gives really good battery life (over 2 days) and the Samsung Health apps are great if you're into that sort of thing. The screen is excellent too with clear notifications from your phone. I looked at the Galaxy 3 and can;'t see a reason to change right now.

Watch for kids...pay a bit more and buy a Garmin.

???
This is far better built than a Garmin! Plus Garmin's aren't classed as a proper smartwatch either, so move along please.

Strangely just started looking for a smart watch that plays Spotify offline on a run, would this fit the bill?

Only if youve downloaded the tracks on to the watch. Otherwise you need the lte version.
Anyone know if this is a UK version or an import? Would like to use Samsung pay.

I've been looking for these but they don't come in black.
I've seen things to help customise it so may get it if cheaper.
Ideally want the watch 3 45mm coming down in price or discounted.

bought one at launch and this is a great watch.
seems like the new version is a cosmetic upgrade but I much prefer the look of this version personally.

bargain at this price!!

Could alway get the Active 2.

Are you planning wearing a black strap?

I wear mine daily.

Well it's still morning mate
Nightmare back at work eh!
I have this and was considering getting the new Watch 3 but decided against it as this watch has a bigger battery and actually superior glass that's less prone to scratches. Looks wise, it's virtually identical to the Watch 3 which is massively overpriced for what it is.

My issue with the watch 3 is that all the new features (ECG /blood pressure monitors) will be activated some time in the future, may take a year or two. In the meantime, this is as good as a watch 3 for now.

You get covers but I had one and it affected the bezel so binned it.

I'd go for the Active 2 if I were you I think it's bezel less though.

That's the problem with vanity, the active 2 has more features, but no bezel to play with and incite envy from my son who has a wear OS watch!
Sometimes it the littles things in life....

The Ringke Air case adds a small lip to the AW2 which helps protect the screen a little, but it also has the added benefit of making it much easier to use the virtual bezel as your finger has something more textured to rub against.

I'd honestly take that with a pinch of salt, it does have NFC for Samsung pay, but if this phone is an import, Samsung pay won't work.

So why would you assume its an import if this is a
Co.uk site and the company was founded in the UK?

Because they specialise in sourcing their products from around the world. This could well be an UK Version, but most likely EU with no Samsung Pay

Was interested in this until you said battery life was improved to over 2 days... Most watches now are up to 2 weeks aren't they...?

That sounds like 2 days of use with screen always on.
If you wanted to put it into powersaving mode, I'm sure it would last weeks. That would provide similar functionality to the other watches with listed functionality.

2 days of battery life is pretty much best case scenario across the board if comparing apples with apples.
