I'm in the market for a Smartwatch/fitness band and can't decide what to go for. Found this on CEX, which I know would mean it's second hand, but grade A and the price is a cracking saving from new. My only problem is that I can't decide whether this particular one is the way to go, but if others were out looking for it, it may be a good ish deal. These are selling at £209 in John Lewis which I personally think is a tad high it's a few quid cheaper on Amazon but going for quite a bit less at places like eGlobal (£125.99) but not sure about them as a company.

Description from CEX site:

have this and like it, especially since an update that made H/R monitor continuos
For me it all depends what eco system you and what your friends use. Most of my friends and family use fitbit, so it makes sense to use that system. There are pros and cons for both, but for some reason Fitbit and Samsung don't like each other and don't share.

These types of devices are not the most reliable, so consider the warranty of this against at least full year for new. Also consider something to protect the screen and sides of the Gear fit as its easy enough to damage it.

I previously had the older version of the gear fit with the button strap, it fell off into the Caribbean whilst sailing, I complained to Samsung who just ran me around until I gave up. Where as on the fitbit, the screen cracked, I contacted them on-line and I had a new watch minus the strap within a week.

Thanks for that, I'm still considering all options so your comment has helped quite a lot to be honest.
the strap is a bit of a concern for sure. I've caught it on things and not noticed it's come undone. Luckily my sleeve has caught it and I've noticed it moving around. It could just as easily fall off and I may not notice. Pretty sure sooner or later it's gonna happen.

Since the update (on the Gear Fit 2) it doesn't count floors properly anymore, hoping they fix it soon, it seems it's affecting many people. I still love it though, good bit of kit. Can normally pick up the non-pro one for around £60 on Ebay (new). As far as I'm aware the non-pro version got most of the goodies that the pro one came with when the software was updated recently (includign the continuous heart-rate monitor).

My gear S3 has never counted the stairs in my house. The only way I can get it to do it is to keep my arm low at the bottom of the stairs then when I get to the top to raise it up high (can't be bothered doing that as I would look like a maniac). I read that it is due to the setting of the floors being set at about 10 feet which is higher than most people stairs are in their house. It has been set this way since I have had it so the only time it will count any floors is when I am at work or out and about and climb further than 10 feet.
