Yes it WILL. It's a proper version - not developer one for Note 4.
someone on the other thread said this is the Second Innovator Edition for S6/S6 edge released March 2015 and not the Consumer edition released in November 2015.

However, it says Consumer edition on Amazon. I am confused.

the lastest consumer edition should be Model No. SM-R322NZWABTU but this is Item model number: SM-R322NZWAXEF.

This may be a silly question, but will this work with non Samsung product? ie, iPhone 6s.
wait untill 8th March. You'll be able to grab one for pretty cheap. Because all those who preorderd S7 get free VR unit and I'm sure people who dont want it will start selling them on eBay.

Difference between these two is only the country they are meant for. BTU is UK, XEF is France/Europe.
Is this the one that's coming with my pre order of s7 edge?

Yes, mine is SM-R322NZWABGL (preorder in Bulgaria) so it's the same model, just for different region. But what's important is that the model is SM-R322.
If only this is compatiblr with my note 4 :(. Developer version is too expensive and hard to get hold of

Nope, this connects via micro USB once inserted.

Unfortunately you'll have to buy a grown ups phone.

As much as I dislike iPhones myself I am going to wait until proper grown up VR is released, not ones you have to slap your phone into.
I bought one of these when they first were first released for £80 and use it with an S6. There are some good games available with from Samsung and Oculus, plus a few impressive videos.

As with most things, I used it a lot when I first had it, but now not so much. However, there is a definite wow factor the first time friends and family use it.

If you have some spare cash and you have a comparable phone, it is a good introduction to VR. Personally I would not do the reverse, buy a comparable phone, just so you can use the VR.

No it's for a very limited amount of Samsung phones. It's impossible for an iPhone to fit in this due to it using a lightning connector instead of micro USB and the fact it wouldn't work if it it could be connected.

Yes this is my experience too. The problem even in 2016 with VR is the resolution. We realistically need a minimum of 8K resolution if not 16K, if that sounds absurd, I'm afraid it's the truth. The hardware to truly realise virtual reality does not exist in a consumer form currently and won't for quite a few years. This is not far off an Oculus in terms of the experience, even at this resolution the effect is quite mesmerising and involving. VR still has a long way to go though. I highly recommend the GearVR if you have a compatible phone it's well worth it just for the experience of something quite new if you've never experience VR before.

Only a person who hasn't experienced the Gear VR would say something as stupid as that.
Anyone tried the v-time app on the gear vr? If not give it a go
Got mine coming with my S7 Edge pre order... Excited is an understatement!
could i watch kodi with one of these, does it make it look like i have a massive cinema screen in front of my eyes?
You can download movies onto ur phone & watch them. But kodi won't work

Colour me stupid, considering if I ever went for VR it would primarily be for gaming why would I want the restrictions of phone tech?
Consumer edition (aka junk disposable version).
I'm guessing this is a much better experience than Google cardboard?

ok so whats the experience like, is it like a big tv on your face? anyone know if remote ps4 play will work as well.
It's like sitting in the cinema but with all empty sets around you. Netflix has its own app were ur sitting in a mountain lodge which is good. Picture quality is not like watching TV, but remember you are just looking at ur phone screen up close. I bought a remote from amazon for £12 which works and let's you move sets in the cinema for a better viewing experience
Can I use one of these to watch Amazon Prime Video through my phone?
No, but you can connect power to the headset so it doesn't run ur battery down. I've got the note 4, & mine doesn't have a power connection so a long as the battery is fully charged it good to go. I do have some over heating, but I am going to try the cool patches that you put on ur head, so it will go on the back of my phone to keep it cool. Not sure if they sorted the over heating out for the new one?, but I believe the note 5 doesn't overheat as I was talking so some American guy in the V-Time app.

mos vr headsets use a similar screen to what phones use anyway. The oculus rift used a galaxy note 3 display anyway so there is hardly any difference apart from what is powering it.

A couple of years time everyone will be laughing at the tech now of VR.
I ordered one direct from Samsung for £80, can't wait to give it a go when it arrives
try Vodafone.ie. 49 euro. just search samsung gear on the site
