Does anyone else think that something like this should be more around the £50-£100 mark? I mean I paid £270 for an Oculus Rift and there's far more tech inside one of those. This is just plastic and lenses isn't it?

Should read the specs first

Looks OK but still think its a bit too expensive.

well i just bought one.. not sure why i did or what i will do with it.. but will let you know ..

its 299 on Amazon

Does the Oculus rift need a pc to use it as i think this is a more convenient way as uses your mobile phone so is more portable.

Anybody know what its like for watching movies on?

I thought whats the point of this when i first heard about it but after i used it i was blown away as when your watching a film on it and is just like being at the cinema or going underwater in a cage and getting attacked by sharks etc it has to be seen to be believed

My Brother brings his to work and on his dinner time he watches game of thrones on a huge screen as just like being at the cinema as has all the cinema seats around you. it even has the exit signs on the walls like a real cinema lol

I may have to indulge I reckon!

anyone seen the note 4 version at a similar price please? :-)

i got mine sent it strait back i had the note 4 version which i sold too i think its not ready yet great for a bit then you will loose interest very quick.

The worse problem that put me of both of them is the steaming o the lenses even the new s6 version has a fan built in to tackle this problem but it still steams up. Maybe i will get the next version i will wait a bit.

my brother uses his daily and never has a problem with the lens. I have only got it for a bit of fun with horror games etc and to watch films every now and again so i don't think i will get bored of it that quick some of the games look good for it though and it amazes people when you show them lol

what does it do

Worth a punt and Samsung are good at returns if it's pants.

Do you have to wear the headset for sound or does it use the speaker?

sound comes from phone so can either use your headphones or connect it to wireless speaker or can ue it without but i recomend using over ear headphones when watching a film

Did you get 1 if so what do u think im loving mine

I've not done it just yet, to be honest I want to see how I am with one so will be looking to try one somewhere at some point first, my eyes are not the best after a botched lasik operation a few years ago so I need to try it first ideally.

Quick question, I assume one would use headphones when using this, does it leave enough room for good sized headphones or do you have to use in ear type ones?

Can use either as my brother uses dr dre beats over head wireless headphones and i prefer either in ear or just using my bluetooth surround sound speaker. you can take the top strap off and just use the strap that goes round the back of your head if it feels comfier to you when using headphones. there is a focus wheel on the top as well so even if eyes are not great you can focus in and out until you get a clearer picture

My main issue with my eyes is that when I had my lasik op they disregarded the fact that I have very large pupils in low/dim light, so what happened is that they lasered a smaller optical zone than what my pupils are so in low light my pupils open up over the treated zone and let in a mixture of treated and untreated light, its not nice at all. This headset may work well for me with movies etc as I assume its quite bright at displaying things once its strapped on and brightness is the key with my eyes as my pupils will constrict and thus my vision will be better.

I really need to see if any place fairly local to me has one to try.

where do you live as there is a few samsung experience stores scattered around where can try them

I'm nowhere near one unfortunately.

I've probably got more money than sense but just ordered one. A tip... go to site and start purchase as a guest then navigate away from the page. A banner ad pops up and gives you an extra 5% discount so £160.55 instead! I know it's emerging technology etc but it does look cool and most reviews back it up!
