Judging by the other thread it's because "you can buy Google Cardboard for 99p which is exactly the same", or "Hurr, another doomed technology like 3D TVs!"

Because of questions like that
Samsung Site with free next day delivery plus Quidco £2.40 Cashback which tracked immediately, making it £77.60 direct.

Just because it tracks immediately still doesn't mean it'll pay out.........

Because there are bitter pr*cks who will vote cold because:

a) They can't afford the headset (even though it's dirt cheap for the industry)
b) They can't afford a S6+ Samsung phone
c) They assume a 99p Google Cardboard has the same functionality
d) They hate John Lewis
Not voting because I dont know what it is!
been playing with for about a week now. You're going to be blown away with the demos on this thing but left scratching your head about what to do next with this. I suggest downloading the Netflix app.
Also, you can watch your own 3D movies on this by creating some folders in your phone. Inside of the 'Oculus' folder create a folder titled 'Movies' and inside of this create another folder labeled '3D' You'll be able to watch any 3D mp4 files that you have through the Oculus theatre.
Overall, it's a great device, definitely worth the investment if you've got the relevant phone.

I'm struggling with the idea of getting one - I have a relevant phone but the fact that it makes the phone overheat, and it doesn't have lasting appeal is holding me back a bit
Seems like a much better deal after seeing the price of Oculus Rift!

I've got the note 5 and haven't had the phone stop because it was overheating, it definitely does get warm but not enough so to concern me.
How is it for gaming? Anyone used it with a Bluetooth gamepad?

Maybe nobody gives a toss about 5p?

5p, I can get a whole plastic bag for that!
Voted hot simply in the hope that the other £80 'HUKD Pick' will vanish, as I find the HUKD Picks so annoying!

Problem is, this will probably then become the 'new' HUKD Pick...................................................................

Or sensible pr*cks who know it will end up in the cupboard gathering dust and won't waste their money on junk technology, not everyone is as gullable as you.

The innovator edition was the very first version released only for the Note 4.

This post is just advising that even with a Note 4 and the Note 4 Innovator edition that you won't be able to use it until you update it

pretty sure the innovator edition was only compatible with the s6 and s6 edge.
Click and collect is now £2
Note do not believe these are Marshmallow compatible which is rolling out now
Genuine question: a friend showed me his new vr headset (basically a holder for a phone) worth £20. What features does this Samsung set have over things like Google cardboard?

Theres loads of info about this and other headsets on sites like 'road to vr'.

essentially it has far better lenses, and some of the processing is done on board which links with the phone models listed to reduce the latency (lag). Which is the delay in updating the image in real time as you move to the point that you don't notice it.. with out any or at least far far less stuttering than you'd get from a cheaper £20.00 option or Google cardboard.

essentially it can update the image quickly enough to make for a sickness free (or reduced sickness) vr experience.

what you don't get is the full vr experience where you can lean forward and move around inside a space like with the new oculus rift (available for preorder since this afternoon) or the equally good looking HTC Vive.
hot bought it from the john lewis site, as samsung store says sold out
This will be discontinued in short order. No developer support and works on a very limited number of handsets. There is litterally no market for this.
It's still cheaper than the Oculus Rift- at £410 with the additional requirement of a new £1400 PC, it's doomed. Doooooooooomed, I say!

no, that's the innovator version of the headset. This doesn't work with the N4

It's been out since early December and you're already writing it off? I've had mine since Christmas and I've seen lots of new games and apps added to the store.

This is Samsung's first consumer edition of VR and unless it proves to be a complete flop it won't be their last. You only have to look at this website to see that the s6 in all its forms is a hugely popular handset. Sure they might make a gear VR exclusive to the S7. But the software will continue to be updated regardless. And even if you are right, I can still watch star wars on the moon in 3D when it's released.

Also did I forget to mention how this is partnered with Oculus?
