Is that wise?

I'd consider setting it up with 1tb as raid 0 and 500mb as raid 1. Or buy 3 and go for Raid 5.

ebayer has a very ood rep.

They are 2x1tb for £77.54 on Scan. So not a great deal tbh just the going price.

The email ebuyer are sending out says free delivery but when trying to add it to the basket it still adds P&P

Probably the best of the 7,200rpm drives overall. Fast and quiet. No problems with e-Buyer for me either, over many years.

Showing up as £40 for me, including delivery (you have to select the 5 day option).

I buy 90% of my IT stuff through eBuyer. Never ever had a problem with them. Even returns have been pretty plain sailing.

Great drive, ok price.

Yes and see it all go down in flames when one of them fails! Certainly not worth it for the relatively small speed increase you'd get.

for me they are showing as £42 each with postage on top, so still looks like ebuyre is cheaper.

Well doesn't work for me. I also got a copy of the email saying 'free delivery', but even selecting '5 day super saver delivery' the price still comes up at £40.00 for the drive and £3.59 for delivery.

At £43.59 delivered, this is more than the drive can be bought for elsewhere and therefore not a deal.

Ebuyer need to get their delivery options sorted out.

I am another one who has had no problems with ebuyer....8 years and counting
Edited by: "bbeettaa" 12th Oct 2010

I can get it down to £40 with the code but NOT post free.
5 day postage is £3.59
Still a good price so HOT from me.

its in the today only its a pack of 2 of them rather than 2 purchases. free delivery is easy to get but even without they are cheaper than this offer atm

I find it quite sad that so many people on this site will vote something hot without checking in any way whether the deal actually exists or not.

This 'deal' is getting hotter and hotter on the basis of the drive costing £40.00 delivered and that deal DOES NOT EXIST!

The cheaest you can get this drive from Ebuyer for is £43.59, with 5 day super saver delivery. i suspect that 'free delivery' on the email was a mis-print, but despite the fact that the deal as posted doesn't effectively exist, loads of people are blindly voting it hot.

I think I'll post a deal for a new 5 series BMW for £20 and watch it go stellar.

very disappointing.

this was expired down at 40 degrees but it was unexpired without even checking - not much of an example

u need to buy 2 and more to get free delivery

Order needs to be £50 or over to get free delivery

Hot from me

Cold for me, does not come pre loaded with HD porn.

Cold from me. You can get this for £42.11 from Scan (with free delivery via avforums) without any deal, or 2 for £77.54 via their Todayonly page.

Not had too many problems. That said, they won't take back my OCZ power supply which has failed within the 36 month 'powerswap' warranty period. Shippings costs to the Netherlands is £38 for a unit I paid £50 for. Not impressed.

Scan on the other hand are offering 5 years 'return to them' on Corsair PSUs such as the TX650 I've just purchased.

Another happy Ebuyer customer here, no problems so far.Even bought one of their own brand PCs which works very well.

Look on the bright side, with EBuyer if you unfortunately get a DOA Drive, then they went put you through too much hassle unlike other companies....

anyone help with this question:
I have a 750gb drive, i beleive it's starting to fail, i was hoping to transfer the data with acronis, to avoid having to do a reinstall, can anyone tell me if the replacement drive has to be the same size and/ or model?

Cheers

Original Poster

If you used less space than 750gb then it can be smaller

PaulTheYid,
(Bad advice from muzzzzzzy.)
You are better off using a drive the same size or larger, or Acronis would have to resize the partition(s) on the fly (a bit risky, and not possable if your system partition is set to "dynamic"). The model is irrelevent, and given that 1TB drives are so cheap now, I would just get one.

Yeah that guy is right, my post was a didn't take the software into account.
Resizing partitions IS RISKY, from personal experience
Edited by: "muzzzzzzzzzy" 12th Oct 2010

I'm not sure it's the same price now - it says £47.99 now, the code doesn't work and the minimum delivery charge is £3.59

Ah no, I must have done something wrong. It's working fine now
