Good enough price, and is hot.
I'll wait for it to get cheaper though. I'm in no rush - I have 4 HD's already (1 x W.D 1.5tb, 2 x Samsung 1tb, and 1 Samsung 750gb) ! X)

You can get two of these for £110.39 on Scan's Today only offers, so just over £55 each. That and they're only £59.98 there anyway.

So these arent imports it seems! Struggling not to buy from Scan because of having to deal with Scan's own return service if something goes wrong. So for £5 more each I can get peace of mind. Hot for me!

Worth reading the Ebuyer thread...
forums.ebuyer.com/sho…ge2

'I can confirm the item comes with just a 1 year Ebuyer warranty.'

I'd play safe, and order the Amazon one from the link I posted in #3. I've had 4 of those, all had 3 year Samsung warranties.

Last week I bought 2 other F4EG/HD204UI from Amazon (by blindly searching and finding the non-OEM part) and they both came up as Code 103 - With zero Samsung Warranty. I sent those back to Amazon.

I have gone with these and will take my chances regarding dealing with Scan.

Cheers for the tip.

Offer at Scan's on again today as well as single drives at £57.59.

Why? They're one of the best online tech specialists. Also worth pointing out the Scan ones are proper UK stock and so are covered by the 3yr Sammy warranty.

From what I have read on other comments the z4 are 'grey imports' and only covered by Scan only warranty. In the description it doesnt say the warranty is done by Samsung, while in the WDs it is done by WD themselves, rather deal with RMA service.
I have bought many products from Scan never had a problem but I would rather be 100% happy about my purchase.

z4 means international, the other option is jp which is Japanese. So z4 is correct. afaik Scan only offer 12 months themselves, so anything above that is manufacturer supplied. Having read around it seems Scan are shipping UK product and I've never had anything grey from them before either, so see no reason to doubt that. However, the only way to tell for certain if a drive is covered by Samsung is putting the serial number of the HDD into the warranty checker on the Samsung website, Samsung UK will only guarantee products supplied by Samsung UK - if it's not you're well within your rights to send it back.

Might be worth ringing them up and asking them, but I really just need one and they are offering
2Tb Seagate ST2000DL003 Barracuda LP Green SATA 6Gbps, 64Mb Cache, 5900rpm, 8ms for £59.99 on today only might go for that.

Z4 does not mean grey imports. It seems that at some point Samsung took the HD204UI and split it into a Z4 and JP models. As mentioned - the only way to tell for sure is to use Samsung's warranty checker with your Serial number. I currently have 7 of these drives, both non Z4 from last year, and Z4s from this year. Two of the Z4 drives came up as "Out of Service Area" so I sent them back.

If you want to be sure about getting UK stock, then order this:
amazon.co.uk/gp/…uct <--- UK F4EG HD204UI/Z4

Do not simply search for F4EG on amazon and order the first thing you find - because thats how I got the imported Z4 with no warranty. Amazon took them back quickly without fuss.
To clarify DO NOT ORDER THESE:
amazon.co.uk/gp/…uct <-- Grey Import F4EG HD204UI/Z4
