Can't find any reviews for this soundbar (only for the 450) ..is it good?

It's a good soundbar but if you wish to then go 5.1 surround by adding R speakers to it then you can't do it as the set isn't multi room compatible.

I want This

can see little point if it can't be expanded.

Any suggestions on cheap soundbars that can be expanded to rear speakers in the future?

how about this sony one for a 5.1 option? 40% off?

According to an instruction manual I found here: http://www.samsung.com/ca/support/model/HW-K430/ZC/

it is compatible with the SWA-8000S wireless rear speaker kit (page 5)

that's great thanks.
surprised this hasn't got hotter by now...should I wait for something better?

According to Currys it is has one HDMI port but nothing on the instruction manual. Can anyone confirm?

Great. The currys and argos websites say the k450. Hopefully the UK model is the same as the CA one

The k450 and k430 are different. The K430 has a smaller sub woofer, and lower RMS output. It's like they've replaced the sub with the one from the K360, although they're both wireless subs. K450 is a superior product. Neither are multi-room, but both support the SWA-8000s speakers. Those rear speakers are utter rubbish.

1x HDMI, and 1x Optical.

So not worth getting the swa-800s then?

I know nothing about soundbars etc. Just need something to go with a new TV

I bought this today and unless I am missing something there certainly isn't an HDMI connection.

Are you sure?no hdmi? No way

Yep, no HDMI. I have got the auto on/off feature working using the optical cable. It is a big improvement over my Sony 60w soundbar.

Got a similar model to this and it's respectable. I don't think it will win any audiophile awards though.

Confirmed no HDMI, despite Currys site listing it as a feature....

Improvement over my UE48JU7000 sound, connected it via optical cable to TV. Although I haven't looked at any of the sound options yet on the TV yet, looking for best settings to take full advantage of it.

The manual link to the Samsung site confirms no HDMI input.

I know very little about TV/audio just want a simple sound upgrade for a small room. Is this optical-only a bad thing in my context? Many thanks to anyone that can chime in!

On page 21 of the manual PDF (link in my other comment) it mentions something called Soundconnect which sounds promising. Dunno if it'll help with the sound settings, but it might allow more than the digital optical connection.

Absolutely not, you couldn't pay me to use those...

Hey guys - really tempted by this - can't find anything which comes close & the wireless subwoofer would be helpful.
Happy with your purchase? Would you recommend? Lack of HDMI not an issue.

Thanks

would anyone recommend this for a Samsung 65inch ? thanks

I decided to go for it, picking up tonight.

Looks pretty good but you don't have a separate sub woofer.
Bose is a decent brand.
It's £169 on Amazon

Nice! Set mine up last night, easy with the digital cable. Quick test sounded good, far better than Tv speakers.

so the 450 have 2 hdmi and optic and this one onlny optic ? with sub from 360 ?

I looked at the Bose soundbar too and was impressed although there was no subwoofer. Looking at the Samsung 450 to buy too, bit confused to which one should I go for?

This deal is for the 430. What are you after?

silly question - Why are people so concerned with an hdmi connection for a sound bar or speaker? Surely everyone has modern tvs that have optical connection on their tv?

Yeah I don't really get that either. Sometimes the hdmi are used to increase capacity if you don't have many on your tv but it's certainly not an essential.

cheers OP, ordered one up now

picked one of these up today. sounds amazing! sub isn't a floor shaker even at higher volume but everything is much richer and the action filled parts have alot more punch to them! money well spent I'd say!

I bought this last week and am happy with the sound so far. Plus very easy to stream music from my phone via blt. The only problem in my case is that i can not turn off the tv internal speakers (Sharp tv) so have to mute them. Anyone encounter this?
