Looks decent but how does it sound lol

i got this august 2016, outstanding piece of kit, even better at this price!

Amazing. Was after this exact one for my parents for this weekend. Saved Us £50. Thanks OP!!

I was looking at getting this for £200 last week, Thanks OP.

Is it available in white?

Been looking or a sound bar for a few weeks now, was holding out for Black Friday. At the weekend one of my speakers blew and then last night the amp decided to just keep turning itself off after 5 minutes of being turned on, think its trying to tell me something but then it is 10 years old! Have reserved this at my local currys, do i get it or wait for Black Friday? not sure i can last that long with the TV speakers!!!

Same dilemma. My sub has just stopped working, and the soundbar is rubbish without it. Tv speakers went ages ago.

I picked it up last night, will get it set up tonight and see, figured if I don't like it can take it back and get something else on Black Friday. Not seen any with as good a spec as this one for this price.

my panasonic tv (65dx750b) has a bluetooth option for connecting to soundbars, does anyone know if this will support it? it sounds like its hdmi or optical input only for this soundbar

It’s amazing easy to set up and simple to use with a big sound. Bass packs a punch with the sub woofer. Surround sound isn’t as good as a 5.1 set up obviously but the standard sound is better than I had with my old onkyo set up. Seen the wireless rears for £100 so May invest in those for Xmas

Great bit of kit. Bought for £151 last year. Upgraded to Sonos now but this is in the bedroom.

I've heard the rear speakers only duplicate the front speakers, so not really surround sound

Bought this the other night and there were literally dozens stacked up in store. Noticed that there was a bundle deal with a 55 inch Sammy tv. Wouldn't be surprised to see this as part of a heavily discounted black Friday deal but dont expect the price for it individually to come down. With regards to true surround sound there's an excellent thread on av forum. I'm thinking about getting the rears myself and they have been as cheap as £50 in the past so hopefully might see a deal on BF.

Thanks, OP! Collecting one in Swindon today

But is it an Onkyo?

Mine is hooked up to my TV using TV Mode as they are both Samsung. I connect my phone/iPad using bluetooth. I'm not sure how other TV manufacturers connect to the sounder as I have no means of testing it.

Can the soundbar sit between the legs of the TV? Or does it have to sit in front of the legs? hope this makes sense! :P

It doesn’t fit underneath my tv, I’ve ordered 4 circle wooden discs to raise the tv up about 20mm.

I think i may have the same problem, i have the 48" Samsung TV, but it has the same legs as yours. Do you have a link to the wooden discs?

Does anyone know whether it's easy to connect your iPhone to this speaker and play music off it through Bluetooth? It can't see anywhere it explicitly says you can do this (a lot of reference to their Samsung app on Android phones etc)

Is this really that good of a deal?

Looking back on previous HUKD posts, it's been this price and even cheaper often even going as far back as around this time last year? (£139 in Dec 2016?)

I had this delivered today and have used it via Bluetooth from my iPhone to test. Just a simple case of pairing the Bluetooth from your iPhone. Brilliant sound quality.

Anyone plumped for a Sky Soundbox yet? I'm toying with the idea of getting one for £250 but I have no idea how it compares to this Samsung soundbar that's £100 less.

I've noticed that mine has a rather annoying issue. The sound will drop for a fraction of a second randomly. After doing a bit or research this seems to be a pretty common problem with samsung soundbars in general.

Soundbar is connected via optical cable and is set to PCM on the TV. The issue is actually worse when set to Dolby Digital as the drop outs are more frequent and are longer.

I'm going to play around with the settings to see if I can get anywhere.

Has anyone else noticed any issues?

Don't know if this is helpful to anyone here, but if you're looking, you can get the Wireless Rear Speakers Kit from hughes at £99, available here: SWA8500S

This has some pretty good reviews so should be good.

Always be aware of the quoted power output though. The quoted 300 watt output is nonsense, This setup really be around around 70-90 watts in RMS. (Likely a 50 watt subwoofer, and 15 watts a channel for the sound bar). Always good to know, but this will still be plenty enough power for most rooms, relative to the price.
