2TB at that price is great but even the 1TB needs a mention at €90.
Great find and heated
Still not £150 yet
This is a really good deal. Thought the 2tb 660p for £170 was an unbeatable price for at least a couple months haha

Yep £165 was a great price but some reviews /comments suggest not suitable for boot drive.
I hope they put the EVO on a deal soon, I've been waiting ages.

It depends on the individual’s end use. Unless you are a power user who content create or other similar heavy end usage like home server, 99% of normal user never going to run into QLC’s limitation.

I daily run the 2tb 660p as my only OS& game library drive for about 5-6 months and it’s still at 100% health.
Oooooh this is too tempting 😫
Good deal. I'd buy this straight away if I not manage to buy Adata Su800 2tb for £139.37(pure chance BTW) from Amazon.
Nice @reindeer
Just bought as my son's 1Tb mechanical drive died last night (used for games- currently in the freezer to see if we can release it!). Checked the date and it was 10 years old.... Doubt that this will last that long!

I think this will last longer than a HDD, but right now it's too new to tell.
Thank you OP.

Ordered. 1TB £78.42 using Amazon’s conversion. Standard delivery 2-3 days.
Nice but not sure on the QLC bit. Still hot for the price!
If it was 10Yold it would be IDE not SATA .. so yo gonna have to buy a new cpu/mobo/ram ? or adapter.
QLC , I wouldnt worry .. I dont need it yet ..so will hold off
BTW you can always restore from your Backups
just used easus data recovery tool .. allows XXX for free ..might come in handy :thumbs up:

This is like comparing apples to oranges. Both are fruits and that's about it.

Samsung is sata SSD and Intel is nvme SSD. You can put Samsung SSD in pretty much any pc or laptop, can't say the same about nvme drives.
Heat added, just ordered and at a great price.

SATA drives have been available for over 15 years. First WD Raptor 10K is one I can think of.

Hi do you link for the 2tbh Adata ssd for £139.37

Any ideas.. Why its cheaper if you buy from amazon European sites rather then amazon UK?

OK I actually got "Ortial OT256STT2TBE 2TB vPro SATA III 6Gb/s 2.5 TLC SSD" for 139.37. I got it form Amazon UK. I was just browsing for 2tb ssd drives and this came up. Only 1 available at that time. I purchased it and price went back to £260. I think its one off. Most likely Amazon bots messed up the price.

Ortial selling rebranded Adata Su800. When you plug their ssd to pc, its detected as Adata Su800. You can even use Adata ssd tool to upgrade firmware.

What's the difference between a samsung ssd qvo or a ssd evo says style? Will they both fit in same port in laptop or is it speed difference?

All SSD's will have the same ports, so you could plug this into a PS4, Xbox, laptop, PC, external drive etc.

Oh and the warranty is different, EVO 5 years, QVO 3 years.

Just had a quick look at the Samsung site and the speeds are just a little different:

EVO:
Performance2)
  • SEQUENTIAL READ Up to 550 MB/s

  • SEQUENTIAL WRITE Up to 520 MB/s

  • RANDOM READ (4KB, QD32) Up to 98,000 IOPS

  • RANDOM WRITE (4KB, QD32) Up to 90,000 IOPS

  • RANDOM READ (4KB, QD1) Up to 10,000 IOPS

  • RANDOM WRITE (4KB, QD1) Up to 42,000 IOPS

Performance2)
  • SEQUENTIAL READ Up to 550 MB/s

  • SEQUENTIAL WRITE Up to 520 MB/s

  • RANDOM READ (4KB, QD32) 1,000 GB : Up to 96,000 IOPS
    2,000 GB, 4,000 GB : Up to 97,000 IOPS

  • RANDOM WRITE (4KB, QD32) Up to 89,000 IOPS

  • RANDOM READ (4KB, QD1) Up to 7,500 IOPS

  • RANDOM WRITE (4KB, QD1) Up to 42,000 IOPS

The QVO has QLC flash chips (quad) whereas the EVO has TLC flash chips (Trí), take a read here for the basics:
reneelab.com/dif…tml

Essentially SSD tech is just a bunch of flash chips and depending on the flash chips you are going to get speed differences yes, but the controller tries to alleviate the slowness and it can do this to a point, and that point is most easily demonstrated by writing a certain number of GB all at once, with the 2TB SSD that point is up to about 78GB so pretty high (1TB SSD 42GB), but there are other downsides to QLC tech like read speeds to lifespan which are a little harder to define.
