Had one last year, 8gb, soon upgraded to a decent model ... These are ok for grandparents that won't be using many apps and just having for emergencies!

Seriously .... Would you rather let it sit in a drawer for 3 years and then thrown away?!

A 1gb/8gb phone in 2018 is obsolete.

At best its an emergency back up phone used 3-4 times a year.

I can only assume you don't understand the basics of phone specifications

That extra .5gb is needed!
This phone is not as terrible as everyone is making out.
I have one as a company mobile, and I have been using it for months.
It is my main phone it is perfectly useable, and I use it all of the time.
However it does have flaws, eg.
Camera - not great
8gb memory - constantly have to move apps to external memory and cleat my cache.
Bluetooth is poor also.
The battery is not great either, I have to run it in power saving mode to get a full day of use.
But for £79, it is a budget phone at a budget price.

Tiptop at this price, it is £79 without the £10 top need at o2 if anyone has o2...

o2.co.uk/sho…016

You get the o2 cinema discount thing with it as well..

Stick Android Oreo 8 on it and it's silky smooth
Excellent phone for the money.
Worth it just for the Super AMOLED!
This or the "Alcatel A3 Xl" from tesco for another tenner?
title and price needs changing to include £10 top up as this is needed

Nightmare phone....seems to use at least 1gb of data a month just on the Android operating system....cannot get it to only do on WiFi!!! So have to have mobile data switched off all the time....hate it....

Love the j5....same memory but works sooo much better...
Few issues with this phone:

8GB means you'll constantly run out of space, need to clear the cache manually daily and struggle to run more than a few bulky top tier apps.

Wifi for me restarts everytime you unlock the phone, causing a frustrating delay and general lag.

Any type of audio using video playback is iffy whilst on a call.

If you can deal with the above, it can be used as a main phone. It's nearly on par with my previous Galaxy S4, but for the reasons given above.
