I think this represents excellent value for the money. Around £180 at most places. 2 year manufacturer warranty. I have it myself, bought it from the Argos eBay site a couple of months ago, the picture and colours are awesome with sRGB and Quantum dot... 4k videos look life-like.

The curve and ambient light thing (read desc.) are slightly gimmicky but don't detract from the main performance features.

4k videos on a 1080p screen?

Yep. You still see a benefit via better pixel representation / accuracy. Look it up.

Any sources for this? I couldn't find much info other than what I expected to find. Not important as I have a 4K monitor already but i just haven't heard about this before.

How do you find the curve for looking at text documents? I would want to use it as a 3rd monitor (vertical) for coding but also my main monitor for certain games that the refresh rate would make a difference on.

I don't even notice the curve TBH... it's slight. I think this might be slightly overkill for only showing text on though.

Downsampling.

That's just sampling quality though, it's like saying youtube 4k looks better than 1080p and that's because they make it look better. Nothing this monitor does will improve the display of 4k content which is what I thought you were implying.

Sorry just the ... made me think those two things were connected. I wouldn't want anyone buying this for their blue ray collection and being utterly dissapointed.

Well, it's honestly quite dramatic the difference 4K vids on 1080p screen makes. Combined with the sRGB accuracy and Quantum dot, it's stunning... some might even say just as good as 4K given what the difference actual 4K resolution makes on screens of this size.

As you can see by this chart, Blueray owners would have no reason to be disappointed with this monitor at 23"... 4K only starts seeing a value on screens around 50" and above.

Nabbed one thanks op. Hoping to use this with my PS4 as the input lag on my TV is horrendous. Any opinion on how well this works with consoles?

No clue... should be perfectly fine though. Only recent console I have is a Wii U, and I don't even hook that up now I've got CEMU emulator running on PC. No freesync on consoles and games barely run over 60fps, so a PS4 might not be taking full advantage of the monitor's features, but you will still benefit from the brilliant picture and colour quality.

Most things on the Argos eBay site is end-of-the-line, so very unlikely they'll get more in. There's a slightly newer model refresh - the Samsung C24FG73 - about £230. Sooo, up to you really.
