Although it's an okay price I wouldn't say its the best choice.

£990 for a monitor with a 1080 vertical pixels isn't great.

Would be better off picking up a 1440 34-36 inch model but that's just my preference.

My choice would be these.

The difference is you can use the Samsung Monitor as 2 screens

Seamless Multi-tasking
"Equivalent to two 27 inches 16:9 monitors side by side, the 32:9 super ultra-wide screen provides the ultimate in multitasking flexibility. Forget about multi-monitor set-ups — with no bezels impeding your view and a single power cable for minimal clutter, you can multitask in truly seamless style."

Ha ha ha, seems this site does too, tried correcting the link, but still going to the wrong place..

Great spec and price just ordered one

Reviews look good. Good price when comparing to buying 3 monitors for my gaming set up I am really tempted will look much neater than cables and bezels everywhere...

Can just setup virtual monitors without any issues. Bearing in mind this monitor should last 5 years, you don't want to be using 1080 in 2021/22 but that's my preference.

I would rather buy 2 34" and stack them on top of each other if I need the screen space

Cack. It's just stretches a 21:9 ratio image out at the edges, better off with a 21:9 monitor!
They're barely selling, they'll be £600-700 soon enough.

I tried to fix the link, fine in my browser, but then the link goes elsewhere... The award is the 2nd new story on the monitor page of the trusted reviews site. But they also have a more in depth review article...One last attempt at that link below.

Thanks for the link! I tried searching their site, but couldn't find it :o)

Ah dang ... I was after something a little wider, so I have to sit in 2 complete different seating positions just to look the way across

At first I was worried about the Bass on this monitor, it sounded a bit fishy to me. Fortunately it comes with a Tuna dial to get the sound just right. So I decided not to be a cheap Skate and took the plunge. This is the right Plaice to buy it.

Seriously? I never got the obsession with vertical pixels, the habit people picked up ten or fifteen years ago for using TV-style terminology for monitors. The P is completely redundant for monitors and always has been and the demand over the years has been for wider monitors so how on earth did this notation gain followers?

This has MORE pixels and more screen space than a 2560x1440 screen. 4.1 million vs. 3.6 million.
Edited by: "EndlessWaves" 24th Nov

Close, but no cigar...when this gets another £150 off, I'll bite.

This monitor is super immersive playing project cars 2. I tried at demo booth recently. I’ll stick with my x34 for now but if I was in the market - this is a great price. Just make sure you have a huge desk to accommodate it’s crazy dimensions.

Try doing any excel work on this....

Even general surfing would be relatively poor. Vertical height means a hell of a lot!

I've got my eye on something like this for my next monitor I think. I've actually been quite tempted to pull the trigger today.

Relatively poor web browsing? When all phones, tablets and likely a majority of laptops have lower effective height then any web page that's poor on 'just' 1080 pixels is terribly badly designed.

It's not 1080p. The term 1080p is misleading because it doesn't need to have 1080 vertical pixels. E.g. 1920x800 is still 1080p despite have fewer than 1080p vertical pixels.

3840x1080 is actually 4K as it has roughly 4000 horizontal pixels.

This is a monitor where both horizontal and vertical resolution matters. We really don't need to fit it into categories designed for TVs that are all the same shape.

I know, that's my point. Referring to a monitor as 1080p or 4K is meaningless.

Not wide enough

heat!

Everyone is whining about the 1080. But not looking at the fact that it's wider than an ultra wide monitor and it's 144hz. When you're so in your gaming you forget about the resolution but what gives you the gaming experience is the 21:9 aspect ration and this as I say before is more wider making it a no bezel eyefinity setup. I prefer my 34 inch 2560x1080 over the Samsung 32 inch 2560x1440 monitor I had before that. Its less stress for the gaming rig too

Yeah sorry the P shouldn't have been there but I think it's relatively clear what I meant.

What do you mean you don't get the obsession with more vertical pixels, this statements a bit confusing to me. If you have a screen no matter what the width with 1440 vertical pixels over a screen with 1080 vertical pixels the picture is always going to be miles better.

If it doesn't need to be an ultra wide my personal preference would be to pickup one of the Dell Gaming Monitors from NRG. You normally don't have any QC issues as they are a lot more strict and a good stand. They are a lot cheaper than standard prices at the moment via NRG too.

None in stock at the moment (was some this morning) however new / refurb stock is regularly coming in. NRG include a 3yr warranty to with new monitors, which I have used before, they collect next day and send out a replacement same day also.
