Found 13th Aug 2009
Today a friend of mine bought a Samsung LE26A456C 26" LCD TV for £99.97!!!

He works at the Mile End Road branch in London and supposedly they had 2 in stock and both my friend and his colleague bought them both.

He said that not many branches have them in stock. I have even seen the receipt when i went round his house today, because i didn't believe him at first.

If someone can tell me how to upload a picture of the receipt i will do so for you guys.

I had that happen to me in the Xmas sale.
I demanded to speak to the manager, told him I'd driven 15 miles to pickup the DAB radio I'd reserved, that it was a gift for my elderly father & that as far as I was concerned one of his staff had stolen my order, so he should check the staff lockers because I wasn't leaving without telling everyone who came into his store his staff were thieves who had robbed my father of his Christmas gift.
I told him if I had to, I would stand outside his store & tell anyone who would listen what had happened if they didn't find my radio.
After he threatened to have me arrested if did, I took out my camera & told him the film of me being dragged from outside his store by the police would be on you-tube within an hour- the look of horror on his face told me that hit home.
15 mins later I left the store with my radio. ;-)
It wasn't just the fact that the radio was a lot cheaper than anywhere else. I got there before they opened, & yes, I had driven 15 miles to get it, because I couldn't get that model anywhere else, & that was the radio my dad asked for.
What really p****d me off, was the "tough s**t pal" attitude of his staff.
In the past 8 months I've not spent anything in PC World & doubt I ever will again.
Sorry for the rant

WTF.

Because they couldn't find an item (which DOES happen occasionally - items can get moved by customers to odd places) you immediately accused the staff and had him search the staff's lockers?

Sorry if me buying stuff from work is considered "greedy". I should let you guys buy 'em all and eBay them, obviously.

IMO it's only wrong if staff refuse to sell goods to customers so they can get it themselves - I see nothing wrong with staff buying stuff if it's on the shelf.

On Christmas Eve PCW had an 8800GT on the shelf for £49.97 - I thought this was a great price and would suit my PC well so I took it to the tills to pay for it on a break. A customer then had a go at me for "stealing all the bargains" even thought it'd been sitting on the shelf all day for customers to buy. I even said that she could buy it instead if she wanted but she still had a go at me! wth!

I Cant even find it on the website, do you have a sku for this?

"trip to pc world to collect my super cheap reserved item only to be told " we cant find the item", which is pc world code for "one of the staff members has decided to have it"

They did this to me with the £39.97 samsung home theatre system that was on here ..a55holes

I don't see any thing wrong if the staff is buying the item...You guys never go to PC World if you didn't got any bargain. and what's wrong buying the cheap stuff when you are underpaid...staff there are under paid and over pressured with all the 10 KPIs they have to hit on each sale....so i don't see anything wrong when staff is buying on a bargain...

People who call the pcworld staff as greedy...please try not to use any promoton codes which are not sent to you...try not to go after bargains.....If you are doing that it means you are greedy too.............

Voted hot for the lucky few!

Must admit I've been let down by the" can't find any out the back" aswell. Same thing happened to a mate a while back with a nationally advertised offer for a laptop at pc world, he phoned and checked stock, when he turned up they said they didn't have any, he phoned head office, complained, next thing they've phoned him back (head office) and told him there is one waiting for him at the same branch, then apologised (head office again), picked it up from the branch from a not happy sales assistant!!

i certainly never minded staff getting any bargains, what i did mind was reserving the item on-line and traveling 30 miles the next day to be told it wasn't there
Its the staff not phoning me to tell me they decided to have it for themselves and saving me an hour + fuel i minded

I think its fair enough and its called the perks of the job, most peoples jobs come with some sort of perks in one way or another let the PC World staff get cheap products not like they dont get enough crap from people to deserve something back.

And before somebody says it no i do not and have never worked for PC World or the DSG group.

There's a world of difference here between (1) staff enjoying a perk of buying something off the shelf when - or even just before - it gets reduced in price, and (2) staff failing to hand over a reserved item. I was nearly fobbed off with the "can't find it" story but when I made it clear that I expected them to make an effort, the item was miraculously discovered in "the warehouse". No hysterics needed - just keep yourself between the assistant and the next person in the queue of customers.

Cant find any in south east/london. Wish i could.

Update - the price is nationwide and there is LOTS of stock available, but it's all for branch use - these are used as displays for ads in the new refurbished stores so any stock you find is probably on the wall of a branch and should of been written off.

I had a look and found one store with 18 of these - all hung up on the wall and not for sale.

that's exaclty what i found this morning - lots of stores have 20 in stock, but won't sell me one.
I can't find any locally that have 'pristine' units in stock tho.
If NeilGrainger would like to pm me, we might be able to help each other out.

I am going to go to the store tomorrow and see if they have them. Will keep trying to phone before though!!

massmail666;6033001

where are the stocks loactated guys?

Well i dont think anyone will tell you that as they will want them for themselves.
I spent hours on phone to a range of stores yesterday so hoping i can get 1 tomorrow.

Now down to £69.97 but you will need to put a log of legwork in to find any...
