50hz or 100hz? I'm looking for a tv for gaming

C530 is a tad cheaper over on Amazon, though I dunno what the differences are between them

amazon.co.uk/Sam…8-1

Almost, but i'm not having a TV without a headphone socket ever again

50hz or 100hz? I'm looking for a tv for gaming

50hz, I've heard most serious AV guys dont recommend 100Hz for gaming

Kharma, this has an extra hdmi socket compared to the C530. Well worth the extra fiver imo

Does anyone know the response time on this? i have been searching everywhere. i have found one site which said 8ms but surely that cannot be right.

Why not? 8ms is pretty standard. If it's for gaming, you'd be fine.

No movies.

According to Amazon and it's reviews... Yes you can play movies through a USB and yes it has freeview.

thanks . just found it . see below.

The Samsung LE32C550 Series 5 1080p, Full HD is the latest TV from one of the leading manufacturers of LCD TV's. You will notice immediately that this TV has been given a geat "makeover" from the LE32B550.It's superb looks are complimented by a array of features that put most TV's to shame, including movie USB connection (Samsung USB Connection Cord Required). The 1080p Full HD picture quality capability is further enhanced by Samsung's proprietary software called "Hyper Real Engine", alongside Samsung's now legendary Wide Colour Enhancer 2 which ensures that the TV displays natural blues, greens and reds. It also has great connectivity with 3 HDMI sockets, and "down firing" speakers that will fill your room with deeper and clearer sound

This looks really good. I'd be interested to know more about the USB functionality, though.

I'm hating this tv research. So many different things to consider and so many different opinions.

I have to agree! spent many hours searching TV's - Decided i was getting a Samsung a few days ago, and been tirelessly comparing model spec to price for what i need. At the end of the day, for £319.99 delivered, you can't really argue. Great Tv, with a great spec for the price!
went for it! Just ordered mine!

So other than the extra HDMI, any differences between this and the C530 at Amazon I need to know about? I'm going to buy one of the two tonight, at the minute this one edges it by virtue of it's extra HDMI slot.

It says headphones 1 under the back input/output, if anyone can confirm this as I really want one with headphone out

Anyone know of a decent wall bracket to buy for this?

dcx_badass

100hz is only used on the TV signal and nothing else on the TV anyway so … 100hz is only used on the TV signal and nothing else on the TV anyway so it won't affect gaming in anyway shape or form.

Like I said before, I'm really hating this research. Everything I had read before said 100hz was better for gaming because of the refresh rate, you could get motion blur with 50hz. Now I must admit I didn't know much about it to begin with, but now I'm really confused.

In answer to my own question, there is a headphone output on the back, so I took the plunge and bought one! Many thanks for the deal

no freeview HD though.

guarantee?

If this is anything like the LED one I have then 50hz is perfect for gaming even if hooking up the PC through HDMI to play games, It has the gaming mode but i haven't bothered with it as yet and hooking the optical cable through the home Cinema is awsome. Who needs 100HZ on a 32 incher? I'm sure it only makes a difference on bigger screens anyway.

nice one. just ordered.

Full HD on a 32" doesnt make much difference unless you sit within

miltonfox

any cheapo from EBay for 20 quid is good enough

I have my 42" Plasma and 37" LCD wall mounted using 20 quid brackets and no problems, as long as the wall you are fitting bracket to is solid brick.

Really wanting to buy this TV... MY tv is a bit old now.. only has 1hmdi and I have to use a switch box and thats annoying... also the speakers are pretty dead now dno what to do.. lol

I don't even NEED a television and I'm tempted by this beauty.

Bought it.

Thanks

That's the older B model, this deal is for the C model.

The pictures on Ebuyer show an RJ45 port on the rear of the telly yet it's not mentioned anywhere in the specs. Does it really come with a Lan port?

cheekydollar

no freeview HD though.

same thing i was thinking at the start of the deal. probably selling them off slowly now at a low price as they're being replaced by freeview HD ones.

Stonking deal though!

Why does the samsung site not know about this TV.
When I search www,samsung,com site I get
Sorry no results were found for "LE32C550 "
Did you mean? le32b550 ?

For £319 it saves you so much could you not just buy a Freeview HD box with a Hard Disk recorder to make up for the lack of inbuilt freeview HD?

Not an issue for me as I have Sky HD at half price from the offer around Christmas time

Hmm - it does seem to have a LAN socket - very interesting but no info!!
