My local Currys store is selling the Samsung LE32R88BDX for £445.99 instore price.

(Just before all the confusion starts the LE32R87BDX and ...R87BDX models are the same apart from the light on the front)

The store is at Merry Hill Shopping Centre, West Midlands.

Not sure if it is a national offer or not.

Fantastic price for a 32" LCD TV which gets very good reviews.

I think the gloss black mirror finish makes them rather attractive actually8-)

£458 delivered online via Quidco & 5% discount voucher , still a great price though .

Certainly a good price for Currys but Costco has been selling this TV (In its R87 designation) at £409 for quite some time (and that price included the VAT). Been two or three weeks since I visited Costco but they may well still have it in stock. Not much help of course if you dont hold a membership card for Costco but just though it worth mentioning.

agreed, from a distance looks great - get fairly near and tocuh them they look and feel cheap and nasty.....i was on the look-out for a new pc monitor....the old samsung's are really nice - no cheap nasty surround but the new one, the "pebble" is awful.

Hey this is my first post!!

Just had a look at this and can only see it at £499 not £445.99.
Should be a deal for the whole country not just one store!!

Also do you no what the difference is between the R87 and R88 as if there is none might go down to costco with my aunt!

thanks

R88 is a designation given to sets sold by Currys, Dixons and PC World. All those companies come under the same ownership and for some reason required a specific code from Samsung to stock this model.

All other retailers of this TV use the designation R87, the only difference that I know of is that the standby/power light on the front of the R87 is red and on the R88 its blue. The bottom line is........ be assured the R87 and R88 are the same TV!

I got one from pixmania for £455 delivered to northern ireland. Looks like i got lucky with pixmania!

Apart from when you actually buy a TV, who actually goes up close to them to check the finish. I certainly dont bother about that when I go to a mates - it's all about the picture quality.

This set gets some great reviews from the experts at a cost of £700 - at £450 you would be hard pressed to get a better HD capable TV. ;-)
