Looks a good price, thanks for posting this I've just added the price and retailer name to the title.

Good price. Heat added

Dont forget quidco. Only 2%.

But that brings it down to £489

Bloody hell, these things are getting cheap now eh?

£500 for a 40" top branded TV that people can't shoot down the resolution or contrast ratio on, nice

Not bad for that price, I wouldn't want to pay any more than that though (I paid £475 a few months back) - picture quality is good, but not great. Built in sound is terrible.

Aren't the brightness levels a little low on this?

Been after a decent priced 40" for a while now, this will do the job, cheers OP!

i;m in the market for a 37 or 40inch lcd for our bedroom and at least a 42inch for our lounge (will get sky hd for the 42inch), I keep seeing all these deals and i really dont know what to go for. I always read the threads and both panasonic and toshiba sem to be brands that get decent reviews...

They're all so cheap at the moment I swear!

same price at BT … same price at BT shophttp://www.shop.bt.com/products/samsung-le40a559p4f-40--full-hd-lcd-tv-52WM.html

Thats because BT own Dabs.com now.

And their websites bear uncanny similarities to each other as well ! lol

my friends have this tv, its pretty good. i really want a 42 inch tv but i am finding it very hard to find one especially between 500-600.

Are there any codes to get this down a bit? I wouldnt mind a 40" but id rather much pay a little less. Not sure if quidco pays out anything.

edit: quidco 2%

Either get this for 477 odd quid delivered (i have a £20 quid voucher) from dabs, or the LG 42PQ6000 from dixons for £493......

Can't decide :?

£12.76 delivery so price should be adjusted accordingly.

The LG one is £518.99. How you manage to get it for £493?

EDIT: Have just found the 5% off in vouchers section.

The only thing resisting me from buying the LG is no 1080p as i keep being told if i get 42" set it should have 1080p???

This is a better deal, in my opinion, Samsung LE40B550 with 5 years warranty.

Depends what you'll be using your TV for. Me personally I'll be mainly watching SD stuff about 70% of the time and then the rest on my xbox360 so 1080p is not a big seller for me. Plus i've seen the PQ6000 in the flesh and it looks quality. But then again i've read some stuff about IR on the LG which might be a problem.

Still on the fence about whether to buy this TV or wait for another one to come along in about a month with better specs.

Anyone buy one of these?

I ordered one on Saturday night and it came 8.30am Tuesday morning. Sitting watching the start of the England game tonight with a rather big grin on my face. Been faffing around since xmas looking for a 40" TV, and to be honest didn't think I'd be able to afford a 1080p set so well chuffed. SD via hdmi off my V+ box looks very good. Xbox 360 looks absolutely stunning. So all in all a very happy bunny

Deal looks to be expired now.
