Paid about 700 for it last November, smashing TV set amazing quality, especially for this price!!!!!

HOT!

Wow. This is a scorcher. I posted a series 5 40" tv on here the other day from John Lewis and that got heat. This be a scorcher...has to be!!!

I got this TV just over a year ago, think I paid around 800-900 quid. A superb tv. Me and my brother-in-law took it out the box and must have stood for 10 mins just starin at it (it wasn't even on). The back is just as nice as the front and with 3 x HDMI you can't go wrong!! HOT HOT HOT

3% Quidco which would help towards their delivery charges - cheapest £33.99. But looking at reports it seems well worth it.

It comes to about £540 with delivery + quidco

Is it worth that much? I'm looking for a TV but don't wanna spend £540 and buy the wrong one >_>

I love this TV & everyone that comes into my living room gasps in awe at it! The only minor gripe with it is that there's so many settings it can take a while to get it set up to your liking.

I've just called British Gas and i'm getting £218 back from them so I am seriously considering buy this tv now

Is it easy to get the settings correct? are they the same for everyone so I can just find the settings online or will it be a case of change it and see what looks best?

I use the settings here.
hdtvtest.co.uk/Sam…htm
Which seem pretty good.

How does this compare to the LE40B550?

"viewing in a dimly lit environmen"

My living room is bright absolutely all day, huge window so maybe these settings won't be the best.

I've ordered it, no going back now :-D It's not being delivered until "Wednesday 12 August 2009 (Economy Service) (estimated)" - Does that mean it'll definitely come on Wednesday or come anytime up until Wednesday?

Anyone any experience with Novatech - never heard of them? After sales service etc
OP - do you mind if I ask how you came across this site? Thanks

Cheers to the 2 previous posters. Ta

To good to be true??

Was going to this evening but probably wont now - to risky as could be waiting for ages and nothing to suggest they wont do an Empire...only an opinion given the current climate

No idea of expected date of delivery then?

The delivery date I was given is Wednesday 12 August 2009, just been on the phone to them and they said I will recieve an e-mail when it is in stock and I should recieve it the next working day.

Got this for less than £600 from PCWorld back in January - I think they were having a schizo day. Awesome TV. Make sure you try the setup instructions on HDTVTest and also AVForums and tweak them yourself to get your best results

Anyone who has ordered this TV will not regret it! Even turned off it stands as a work of form factor art in its own right.

Which HDTV setup instructions? hdtvtest.co.uk/Sam…htm My room is a bit lighter so i'm going to follow this too "* [Backlight] should be increased (up to 7) in a brighter viewing environment to preserve shadow detail and perceived top-end luminance in the face of stronger ambient light."

I found the settings thread on avforums incase anyone else is interested - avforums.com/for…tml

HAHAHA thats what we did too! Just sat ands stared at it. I spend $600 on it at Crimbo, would buy another for a different room at this price.

Novatech are a 100% reliable company.I have used them many times over the last few years and have never been let down.
Never had a faulty or broken item yet and they always deliver when they say they will.
Dont be scared to order from them !

nice price and nice tv.

im still on a 720p set from 5 years ago waiting for some sneaky OLED web connected TV's to show up for reasonable money

I paid around £600 for SAMSUNG LE40A756 when I sold blu-ray player Back to 11/2008

hotukdeals.com/for…438

excellent price, plus im a fan of samsung so thats +9 degrees from me.

Hot deal Im not to sure to buy this or wait until the LED tvs come down in price. Been as though I already have a 720p 32" LCD.

it appears they are out of stock none of the stores seem to have any.

An absolute scorcher! Have some heat!

Is marketwal.com a trust worthy site because they are going for £449 there but I have never heard of them before?

I have looked at some reviews on you tube and there where a few Flicker Issue. Just to let people know before they buy. I wanted one of these but I might just get one from a company that offers 5 years guarantee to be on the safe side.

i never heard of the company, try richer sounds or john lewis if u want 5 year warranty. richer sounds will price match any tv if you find it cheaper with 5 year warranty.

Thanks

My old Philips CRT finally gave up the ghost tonight whoopee, so at last I'm able to justify the step up to to a brand new HDTV.

This one looks really good, can't wait for delivery & to be able to plug my Nikon D90 in which I got a couple of weeks ago (which looks really c**p on my old TV).

Heat added, Cheers.

Rich

Its only with 1 year warranty, how much is it with 5 or say 3 years? cus I'm thinking of going with the john l offer then...which is better? i'm a newbie to buying HD

Paid 800 quid for one of these about 14 months ago.

As others have stated, t'is a thing of beauty. Watching it now whilst surfing

Looks good switched off as well. No regrets will be had, I assure you. Be ready to dust it though, it loves the dust :-D
