Desc. from RS website:
The Samsung LE40b530 is a 40 LCD TV that offers unrivalled value for money.

Featuring full 1080p HD Ready technology, the LE40b530 is more than ready for the new generation of High Definition sources such as Blu-ray. The full 1920 x 1080 resolution lets you see more detail than ever before and creates a vivid sense of realism. Also standard is Samsung's Wide Colour Enhancer 2 engine. This unique Samsung system offers far more natural and convincing colours by strengthening the red, green and blues. A high contrast ratio also gives the LE40b530 excellent depth of image with subtle shading.

Although we'd always recommend a separate home cinema system, the Samsung's built-in SRS Tru-Surround HD system gives a useful boost to audio performance. With indirect firing technology the, hidden, speakers create a spacious sound that's complemented by the SRS Tru-Surround HD system.

Twin rear-mounted HDMI (and one side-mounted) sockets allow for the connection of 3 High Definition sources, such as an HD-TV box, HD camcorder and Blu-ray. In addition to this, the LE40b530 boasts SCART and component connections for your older sources. Furthermore, the PC input makes this attractive TV the perfect complement to your home computer - especially when used in conjunction with the Samsung's special Game Mode. Topping off the wide range of sockets are both analogue phono and digital optical sound outputs - ideal for connecting this Samsung 40 inch 1080p LCD TV to your hi-fi or home cinema for a useful upgrade in sound quality.

Completing this stunning 1080p Samsung is a stylish case finished in the same Crystal Rose high gloss look as their other, more expensive models. For added convenience the stand also swivels for the best viewing angle.

As 40 inch 1080p HD Ready LCD TVs go, the Samsung LE40b530 is now one of the best bargains of the lot. Be quick!

cambridge one is ex display and very scratched!!

Would be having this if it was in Newcastle.

southgate ones are gone and ex display..

also this is the 2009 model, the c series is is the 2010 model which has a high contrast ratio. I'd personally go for the 32" c530 which is a little cheaper.

good price, shame non near me

If you can get one at all it will be beaten up with bits missing.

Great price if you can get one..... I paid £450 for this model 15 months ago.
Hot.

very hot indeed

Under 300 for a 40" is always a good deal! Especially from known brands!

bargain

looks hot

all the ones in chester are repair stock with 12 months warrantee.... I gave it it a miss

LOUGHBORO GUY

looks hot

Shame not everything is as hot as this deal.

Title should say ex display/bgrade if it's not BNIB with full warranty etc

Why is this deal getting 500+ degrees when the goods arent even new?

Banned

damit, bought a 32" a month ago for the same price!!

bargain

Ok for a cheap LCD. Just make sure you disable the DNR on it if you get one, otherwise the picture is terrible.

I'd also advise only buying if you are viewing from a large distance.

Why complain? Great product for a fantastic price.

Because the OP doesn't care about accuracy, he just wants his deal to get hot.
A lot of people just browsing the deals will vote hot on something that looks good value, so they only read the title and not comments.

Should be spammed as the title is misleading.

OK - first things first, a wholehearted apology to anyone who may have been mis-lead by this post.
I took my information direct from the RS website, which gave no indication on the product description that these would all be ex-display etc - the only indication that I can see, when looking now is the standard line on their 'check-stock' link that they have for a lot of their in-store only deals. This was not my intention in any way, and I will amend the title accordingly.

WOW! Where to start with this comment? jukkie, it's regretful that you feel so strongly about this that you have to make a very bold and clear statement about my mindset when posting this deal. It's odd that you have such an awareness of my motives when we've never met before.

Perhaps if you had indicated that 'in your opinion', you 'thought' that I had been deliberatley mis-leading people to gain heat, then I wouldn't have given a monkey's, as, after all, we are all entirely entitled to have our own opinions, however, on this occasion, you have actually chosen to state, as fact, that I posted this deal with an ulterior motive.
Was this because you had a look through the other deals that I have posted and discovered that in fact I do only post deals in order to 'gain heat'? No- I didn't think so.
One of the beauties of HUKD is that a cold deal to one may be a very hot deal to another - with that in mind, I post things that I think others may benefit from; sometimes I get it right and sometimes I get it wrong, but hey, in the big picture, what does it really matter?
Perhaps in the future, you should choose your words more carefuly and maturely, as it is not appropriate to post accusatory and defamatory comments.

It very clearly states on the red banner under the price that they may be ex-display. TBH I share Jukkies frustration somewhat as in my mind there is a huge difference between a bargain price BNIB product and a refurbished, returned, ex-display or whatever product. I also think lots of people vote (hot and cold) based on the initial headline and don't read the description underneath.

Having said that, it is till a decent price for a branded refurb telly and for another £30 you can get the RS 5 year warranty which should give some peace of mind. Thanks for changing the header too.

voted cold - as its another shop-bait offer...

'oh, we dont have it in stock - but maybe you want to check this model for £1500 ?'

LOL richersounds are really laughable these days...

'may be ex-display or ex-repair' - it's ALWAYS not new...if it actually existed.

let's wait for somebody who has actually seen any of these deals

I remember the first time I went to richersounds to ask about one of the deals like this one - to my surprise the TV was there. it was ex-repair with LOTS OF CAT SCRATCHES ON IT O.o

but they already had another 2-3 deals waiting for me...for about 5 x more than the original deal...

really not worth it

As others have already pointed out, it plainly states (in a nice red 'warning' banner) on the product page that it is ex-display/repair.
Perhaps in the future you should create your deals more carefuly.

It would appear that you have not understood my point.

I have no problem admitting that I did not pick up on the nice red warning banner, and have already made an apology to anyone whom I may have mis-lead, I have no objection to anybody who pointed this out, nor anyone who takes umbradge at this. At the end of the day however, I made a small mistake.

My point to you was the way in which you worded your comment; you made a very clear statement about the motives behind my post, which, considering we have never met, are completely unsubstantiated. I'm sorry that you do not take criticism well.
