Ohhh sarcasm, very funny tho' LOL

The only difference I know is that the 530 has that big ugly red line accross the bottom of the display.

Anything technical? Haven't got a clue  (Least I'm honest tho' LOL)

I read the first two and they loved this TV.
Just noticed that they reviewed the LE40B550 and this is a LE40B551A so who knows if it's different.
You can pick up the LE40B550 from a number of places for £480 so that may be a safer bet than buying this!

the 551 is the 550 just has a 1 on it as it is sold by currys/dixons/dsg group!

You can use MAY6 code for 6% offwhich brings it down to £469.06.
Great offer saw this, this morning in The Sun. Brilliant TV 1080p aswell!!!

whats the warranty with these?

gratisaja;8612910

whats the warranty with these?

standard 1 year warranty.
trust worthy though not techwood or some crappy company like that

just bought this for my mother last week £470 from dixons and have to say was extremely impressed with the picture

1st year warranty on any uk retailer item is provided under law by the retailer.

If you can, get John Lewis to match this, free 5(4) years warranty.

One more HDMI socket and something else I think. This is still cheaper than the 530 in Tesco.

Using 6MAY and quidco brings it down to £454.99 (£14.07 quidco)

Thanks mate!

Took the plunge and ordered 1!

6MAY 6% off code works & quidco has tracked at £17.47

So the Tv has cost me - £451.59!

i listed this set about a month ago for slightly cheaper, its an average price neither hot or cold from me, do like the sammys though

slight difference in contrast ration between the 530 and 550, 550 gets better reviews aswell

Does this have 100Hz or 50Hz?

50 and a panel lottery according to AVF

Reason I asked about the 550 vs 530 is that I want the RicherSounds (or John Lewis) 5 year Warranty, if i can get RS or JL to price match this I'll be a happy bunny.

can u use the codes and reserve instore? its out of stock atm online reallly want this tv or somthing as good at this price

Playing around at the mo with 'em all to get the best 1!

did anyone manage to use the 6may code with this

it said it was only available to collect in store
so went through that process and it gives no option to add a promo code, just tells you to pay on collection.
went to pay and the guy said "oh no that must be some online thing you, cant have the discount." this is despite ordering it online!

Yep, 6MAY worked for me. Got £29.94 off the advertised price and also quidco tracked at £17.47

Looks like they're back in stock online again!

Tempting, but not Freeview HD...

No longer available from Internet site so just picked one up from a store. They say they can not apply voucher codes in store.
Got home to find all polystyrene packaging from top of carton missing, so TV just bouncing around in the box. Bits were missing, so it's no use.:x
40 mile wasted trip and now I have to sort this mess out in the morning. Should have known better than to deal with Currys.

Bad luck - no wonder they were near the bottom of the recent retailer survey

I see the store that I returned my damaged TV with missing parts has just put it straight back into stock for another unsuspecting customer. Avoid this retailer where ever possible. They are cowboys.
