Product Description
Manufacturer's Description
Full HD 1080P

Anyone can say they have the clearest picture, but only Full HD 1080p has twice the detail and twice the resolution of regular HDTV. It delivers dazzlingly, rich colour and vivid details, and even corrects the errors from standard definition content. It's definitely not your father's HD.

Plug-in your USB device and watch your videos or listen to your music
Freeview HD

With the emergence of Freeview HD, Samsung now has the capability to show you these channels. You will now be able to experience a whole range of entertainment in HD with no subscription and no contract.
Connect Share Movie

There’s no excuse anymore for leaving all those great digital pictures and videos in your cameras. All you need with the Samsung HDTV is a USB connection cord. Just plug it in then instantly play. It even works for your music collection, so now anytime is showtime.
More real than reality with HyperReal Engine

Your mind won’t believe your eyes. That’s how breathtakingly stunning the picture quality you get with Samsung’s HyperReal engine is. Enabled by Super 3C Realization, the picture is as unrivalled as it is unbelievable. This way, you’re never just watching a movie, you’re living it. Every moment will ring truer, go deeper, feel stronger, look richer. Hard to believe when you’re on your couch.

The advanced features of Samsung LCD TVs produces stunning picture quality. Click here for a larger image
Wide Colour Enhancer

Capturing nature is the goal of an artist. We've achieved it as well with our Wide Colour Enhancer. Our unique 3D colour stretching technology saturates each pixel until it achieves the true colour and luminescence intended by nature. So every colour on the RGB spectrum is brought to life. It is a work of art.
This TV doesn’t settle for less than perfect

A picture that’s smooth and clear doesn’t always magically appear. That’s why many of our latest HDTVs are equipped with a digital noise filter. When you have a less-than-perfect picture in a poor reception area, this filter reduces the analog noise created during transmission, reproducing clear images, sharp details, and bringing images back to their original beauty.
Anynet+

Take the drama out of enjoying your home theatre. Anynet+ delivers one-touch control for all compatible SAMSUNG audio and video devices connected via HDMI. Now one touch is all it takes instead of a coffee table full of remotes.

Anynet+ delivers one-touch control for all compatible SAMSUNG audio and video devices connected via HDMI
4 HDMI

All it takes is one cable to connect your TV to your other audio and video sources. Our HDMI slot allows you to import all kinds of content without compression including pictures and videos from your digital camcorders and multimedia PCs. Now enjoying it all on a wide HD screen couldn't be easier.
Light controlling, energy saving

Samsung HDTVs are easy on the planet — and on your eyes. Our unique Eco Sensor measures the intensity of the room’s light and automatically calibrates the brightness of the image on the screen. In a brightly lit environment, the picture brightness grows even brighter, and in dim surroundings, brightness is reduced. So now you’re not wasting energy on a bright screen when it isn’t needed. Enjoy the best picture possible with a TV that’s aware of its surroundings.

lovely tv !!!!!

I'm not an expert by any means but this seems to be a very good tv for a very good price -- have some heat.

Bargain! I have this TV and it is fabulous.

Review here hdtvtest.co.uk/new…htm . 'Highly Recommended'.

Superb blend of picture quality & outstanding build quality. Glass stand, glass-effect bezel, metal rear casing, transparent bezel edging, red pinstripe at the base of the bezel. It oozes quality.

Unlike many TVs, there's no panel or processor lottery with the LE40C580. It has the Valencia processor & S-PVA panel... no subscribers to the C580 thread on Avforums have reported getting anything but the S-PVA panel so far this year.

Just had my £399 one delivered by best buy, will be setting up and testing tomorrow.

I bought the LEC650 40 inch about a year and a half ago from amazon, great tv brilliant picture quality and great price at the time, think it is cheaper now but heat added for this one

dooper

EDIT
OH DEAR! Automatically thought the posts on the review for this tv were...ahem...about this tv! Obviously not! Sorry!

Not too sure that is right? (I dunno) but look at the comments and found this

Hi guys,

Just recieved the LE32C580 I ordered a few days ago and it looks great.

Could someone direct me to where I can find the panel number for the tv?

I’ve looked allover and I’ve got the main sticker with the Samsung logo and the model number and also a sticker behing a vent with various numbers and letters, but none of them resemble panel numbers posted above?

Thanks for your help,
Jack

■Jack Malster on 7 January 2011 2:03 pm

Regarding the above post, I just checked another site and found I have the T315HW04 screen.

Is this a good one?

■Nielo TM on 7 January 2011 11:19 pm

@ Jack Malster: Yes, you have the AUO AMVA panel. The black level is not as deep as the S-PVA panel, but it has faster pixel response, no dragging blacks and lower input lag. All of which makes it ideal for gaming

The missus bought this tv 2 months ago from amazon for £399, next cheapest elsewhere was £499. I have to say the tv is superb, would be difficult to fault for £500, but at this price its a no brainer if your after a new tv.

This is super duper hot! I brought mine pre xmas for £480 and I love it!! Blu Ray, and games look amazing on it!! Friends often comment how good stuff looks on it

Nielo's comments are correct. I have the S-PVA panel myself, black levels are amazing!

To make this crystal clear, I am talking about the subject of this deal... the 40" LE40C580. NOT the 32" or 37" or 46" versions of the C580, which may contain A-MVA panels.

Amazon service amazing too btw, I had a faulty up button on the remote, they sent an entire new unit the following day and gave me 30 days to send the other back at a time convienent for me (all paid for)

What, they sent a new tv?.

This TV needs to be picked up quickly, Samsung as stopped producing this TV due to the release of the D580 series. So hurry up people. The cosmetics of this TV actually look far better than the new one.

It's hard to find any negative comments on this TV especially for this price.
Freeview HD is excellent, hopefully more channels will be launched later this year.
Ordered!

Thanks. I recently sold my Sony Bravia KDL-40U3000 lcd for £285, which I had for the last two years. The only reason I sold it for was I got bored of it as it didnt have freeview hd, internet usb connectivity etc. Now I am looking for an LED that has internet, usb, 3d and freeview hd but the cheapest I could find was £599 for Sony KDL NX713 and its about £100 over my bugdet.

How does this compare with Sony KDL NX713 bearing in mind the price difference. Should I get this or wait for NX713 to come down in price as I won't be buying a new tv for another good few years. Any suggestions?

I might this as I can get this for £360

Its £380 at Dixons - maybe theres a 5% off code?

Agree with all the comments above. Had mine for a couple of weeks now and very impressed. Hot at this price!!!

Any one know if these suffer any of the build issues or Sammy's in recent years?

Anywhere else have it with 5yr g'tee for similar money?

Nice tv for the money, I'm definately tempted as I'm desperate for a new tv, got a £50 voucher for amazon and another for John Lewis so I've been waiting for JL to do the Sony 40ex403 for £399 again, the 5 year warranty is a big draw too, still tempted by this sammy though, arghhh why can't amazon do a 5 year warranty too lol

Currently been taken off it seems, can't add to basket.

Ok couldn't help myself, ordered.

138 left...

I imagine these won't be around for long, although the replacement model is only £499.99 from Amazon. If you play chicken, you may get it cheaper, they've been nudging the price down bit by bit to clear their inventory,

Forget the EX403. People buy the LE40C580 in preference to the EX503.... see

whats the best tv for online gaming. FPS.

Tempted...really only need a 37 inch...but for the money..? Hmmm.

HOT! The prices for some of these 40" plus TVs are insane now.

I have a NUS Card and I get 5% off

Well Quidco has 5% cashback at Dixons which ends Saturday, so you could get it for £361 (inc cashback) from Dixons.

Got one of these the other day for £320 ex-display but it looks like its just come out the box.

I have a very old TV aerial but it still managed to pick up all the digital channels and even the HD ones ! Watched Eastenders HD and i was well impressed !!

Great TV !!

Does it come with the standard 1 year warranty?

Bought this from amazon when it was £399.

Execellent picture/sound/looks using SKY HD and PS3 on 1080P.

Use Neilos settings and turn the backlight up to 5+ if it's not bright enough during daytime.

If you can hook the TV up to your PC, run a pixel program such as dataproductservices.com/dpt , or simply fill the screen with a solid color, like white, or yellow, if you see any blotches, they could possibily be dead pixels.
