Have just been looking and using the newly posted code FIVEOFFTV & the PR25 code you can get this tv for £696.05, using your egg card will gain you 3% instant cash back & quidco gives 3% as well potentially making the tv £653.99. I ordered this tv at christmas and have been very happy with the picture on sky hd,360 & PS3. (although I'm currently awaiting a new one due to a couple of stuck pixels). . I suppose this method can be used for a discount on any tv over £499. For egg and quidco discount together just use the quidco link and the egg discount comes off anyway.

EDIT : PR25 HAS EXPIRED USE QC20 CODE TO GET £20 OFF INSTEAD OF 25

Like the TV ... like the price .. but is the JAN20 going to be valid for for just today .. or does anyone know whether there's a FEB20 code to come ??

BTW, don't forget Quidco too 3%

use pr25 instead of jan20 to get another fiver off! Just noticed that one in the vouchers section and seems to work, have now amended deal at the top to reflect this! Is just a fiver dearer that I got it on Christmas day with there 10% code!

From personal experience its a fantastic TV. I do recommend that people who are interested in this TV to check out the thread on AVForums, possibly not all of it but recent posts.

Fantastic price, would love this but cannot justify as my R74 (which i paid more for!!) is under a year old.

I would recommend this set. I have the 46" and I would buy it over and over again!

I'm really, really interested in this.

I have the Sony KDL40W2000 on order with Pixmania for £823, but they've been absolutely dreadful so far. I've been waiting since the New Year for my TV! They're a disgrace. I've been very tempted to cancel my order with them but I couldn't find a similar TV in that price range.... I think this most definitely does it! Sounds like it's just as good, if not better, than the 40W2000, and it's nearly £200 cheaper!

No doubt in my mind that it's better. It also looks 10x better. I have the one with the silver trim and OMG it just makes the room!

I have this N version of this TV. The difference between the two is that the M version has a higher contrast ratio. The TV is excellent! The picture is brilliant with my xbox 360! Next purchase will be a blu-ray player!

Definately recommend at this price!

Damn... I paid £749 over the xmas for this tv... good tv and I'm well pleased with mine..

this tv is awesome highly recommended managed to grab this on christmas day for the 1 hour promotion which made me pay £690, initial setup of course is highly recommended it comes as standard 100% brightness etc which needs to be tuned down.

Grab it

Great offer, go for it, top of its class this TV, I have this one. Go to Av Forums for loads of advice on setting up to get the best picture.

I've been hanging on for a new HD tv and really like the Sammy's, but I was looking at a 37" LE37M86BD, is there much diff between the 40 and 37?

Can I ask. Is this good value just cos it's a 1080?

I don't/won't have hd equipment for a long time to come and cant get freeview either. Just terrestial and normal sky (Free) channels and rarely watch films/dvd but intend one day soon to get a HDD/Dvd recorder.

Am I better off getting a cheaper, less def TV like this one.

WITH stand, for £669.00 here.

Wouldn't that be better vfm for me?

Would I notice much difference with this TV with current set-up?

Advice very much appreciated by me and perhaps others on here.

Very tempted by this offer. Would go nice in the front room of the new house I'm hoping to buy.

Anyone know how long the "FIVEOFFTV" voucher will be usable? I've noticed the "JAN20" and "PR25" no longer seem to work. Would like to wait until the purchase of my house is finalized really.

I have this tv, SD isn't fantastic but dvd and high def look amazing. Xbox 360 blew me away.

If anyones looking for the cheapest 1080P TV theres a LG 42LF65 on dixons which is full hd for £659.25 before quidco & egg which would be £619.71 after the discounts. Although I dont know how good this tv is but doubt it will be that bad.

Spot on
If SD is a big deal to you, best of getting a high end Plasma. However failing this, you cannot fault this deal. It is a super LCD and franklya steal at that price. I took a close look at many LCDs and Panasion/Pioneer Plasma over the xmas period to see how they compared. And if I were to buy all over again, I must admit I would pic this at teh price here. But shouldnt complain a I got the £900 deal on the Panasonic 40" 1080p plasma :whistling:

I clicked 'Go To Deal' and landed on the Dixon's homepage, searched 'Samsung LE40M86BD 40" and it was priced at £759..? Anyway I found this one at £609 which, used with the vouchers could also qualify as a bargain, anyone agree?

dixons.co.uk/mar…901

i paid £1000 for this a few months back, and it was value for money ever for that price, i think ill pick up another seeing as its so cheap!

Hot hot hot.

Bought one of these myself a only couple of weeks back, very very impressed (I paid £719)
(can't help wondering if I should have gone for a the 46" version now tho!).

HD DVD looks outstanding on it - 1080/24 is the big deal for me, very smooth, so sharp & crystal clear.
Sky HD @ 1080i via HDMI looks fantastic on it & even my 1080i via HDMI upscaling SD DVD player looks excellent on it (even my old Divx TV & films).
The spec/price of this set is right now, IMHO, unbeatable.

Even SD and the audio (rear facing speakers are said to be a bit of a problem) turned out to be good - far better than I was led to believe - but I use a decent 5.1 system anyways.

FIVEOFFTV + QC20

Well after LOTS of searching I found a Samsung LE40M87BDX for £723.33 before Quidco at Dabs.com. My OH was unsure about the difference between the 86 and the 87.I rang Comet direct to ask and the man assured me that the 87 was the better TV? Not sure we got a good deal now though would we have been better with this one?

Ordered at 5.30 this morning (yeah, I'm sad I know) together with the 5yr warranty.
Got a phone call this afternoon (number withheld) from Dixon's claiming to be a "random security check to eliminate fraudulent card activity"........told them I wasn't giving them my mother's maiden name or similar and that I thought the whole point of having to provide the card's CCV number was to prove that I had the card in my hand.
They refused to proceed so I cancelled.
Guess they didn't want my business :x

I think the man from Comet was telling a little white lie!

From HDTV Test...

"According to Samsung, LE40M86BD and LE40M87BD both have the same technical specifications… the only thing different is the styling: the M86 sports a black/blue strip under the panel; and the M87, a silver strip."

Good to hear and welcome to HUKD

Winspiration;1531672

I think the man from Comet was telling a little white lie!

And since the M86 is exclusive to the Dixons Stores Group a man from Comet is unlikely to say anything else. :whistling:

Personally, I'd say the M86 wins on style.

So tempted. Must resist...

Regards,
Mark.

I would get a cheaper tv not this one if your not having hd for a while, as 1080p is not even supported by sky hd yet, its only really of benefit if youve got a blueray player ps3 or 360.

1080p is only really good for certain movies/PC connectivity. Few games on consoles support 1080p and SD does look better on 720p due to being closer to native SD res.

Bought this TV back in September for £760 ( £30.40 quidco and £15.20 tesco credit card) = £714.
Well done OP you have beaten that price!!

Wasn't too long ago when it was £1099

Stunning TV ,Highly recommend it at this price:thumbsup:
