The N series are now old models. You can get the new F series with more features and a 1920x1080p panel.

No, thats incorrect. The N series is a new model (released a month or so ago) and is the current main consumer model. The F series is the new high end range, but your right about it having a 1080p panel.

what's the usb for? displaying pics from a camera maybe?

EDIT: found my own answer:

9-in-2 multi-memory card slot / USB / PictBridge
Samsung LCD TVs provide two slots for nine different multi-memory cards and a USB port. Now the users can conveniently view pictures on TV and listen to music.
Supports nine types of memory cards as follow: SD (Secure Digital), MMC (Multimedia Card), MS (Memory stick), SM (Smart Media), (Extreme Digital), CF (Compact Flash), MD (Micro Drive), MS pro (Memory stick pro), and Magicstor. In addition, PictBridge enables convenient printing of photos viewed on the TV to a photo printer.

Thanks tolgak, looks great ... a bit expensive for me though :-(

Not incorrect, the F series is newer than the N, which has the same panel as the 6 month old R series, just slightly refined from all the overscan and other issues. Money permitting, you might as well get the highest end TV in your budget. If you get the F series, you get the same high-end panel used in the Sony Bravias, as produced in the same factory. Bravias processing is slightly better than DNIe which Samsung use.
