Can anyone suggest a cheapish surround sound speaker system? I've already got a ps3 so don't need a blu-ray player. Cheers.

One year warranty on a 3D set. I'm a bit cautious. Never had any problems with my current 42" Plasma that I got from John Lewis but I'd like the peace of mind.

Richer Sounds I believe just charge 10% of the price so it comes to £989.94. Here they want an extra £217.89 for five years making it £1077.88 and from a retailer you can't be as much faith in.

**** deal then?

Depends whether you want the warranty or not. I'm going to carry on waiting. The 40" keeps coming down so this must do soon.

£900 five year warranty and two pairs of glasses and I'll be a happy bunny. Already got a PS3 so ready to roll on that front.

I can't offer solid advice on surround system but if you've got a 3D TV you need to shop around for a 4.1 HDMI receiver £200+, Speakers £180 Jamo A102. Cabling £50-75 depending on size of the room.

I've got an older Onkyo with 3.1 HDMI so it means I have to connect HDMI to TV direct and run optical into reciever for 3D I believe. On my current 2D TV the 3.1 HDMI delivers both sound and picture.

Thanks sparc. Not too interested in the warantee, I always get insurance to cover after the 1st year. Now on the lookout for a receiver (_;)

By the way quidco has just tracked at £22 so makes this £837.99:) Happy days!

I can confirm this is a stunning TV - incredible 2D picture (brilliant colours, deep blacks) very tweakable picture settings and great connectivity options.

And the 3D is fanstastic - even with the current lack of native 3D content, the 2D to 3D converter works so brilliantly it doesn't matter. Spent the weekend goggling at Avatar and the Spiderman trilogy on Blu-ray - all coverted to 3D - and they all looked absolutely fantastic.

I got mine at Amazon for £935 - though it did come with a blu-ray player.

This is hot deal, IMO.

Cheers Magic. Did you purchase any additional glasses? On the lookout for a couple of extra pairs, wondered what the best deal was.
Thanks anyway makes me feel much better about my buy.

No worries Steve. I'm having a ball with the TV, so I hope you rate it too.

To be honest I got tired of looking for the cheapest glasses online, only to find everywhere was out of stock and so I just wandered into Currys to pick up a pair or rechargable ones. They are good, but Curry's highstreet stores are a rip off and so I ended up paying £80 or so for one pair.

You CAN find them alot cheaper online if you look around. I just ran out of patience

Let me know how you get on with the TV - and the 3D - whether you see any ghosting etc. I saw a little bit of ghosting only the first time I used the TV out of the box. Then I played with the settings a little and has not been an issue since, which is great.
