Oh the horror.

saw this yesterday but went with the white model (ue40d6510) for £699 with 2 glasses, i thought it was worth an extra £50 for the looks lol

smart tv sucks on these how u can have web access then limit it to what samsung wants u to see and control i was really disapointed by this but the led`s do look good in picture wise...

i was about to buy this tv but i read a post 2 days ago Samsung Series D6000 3D TVs have a permanent defect in that 3D is SD not HD. This will not be rectified by software updates. so 3d is not full hd
hotukdeals.com/dea…731

I've got this tv in my bedroom. The HD is amazing but the 3D is crap. Was playing drake's deception and the crosstalk and graphics was terrible. Had to disable 3D and the graphics improved.

Saji your comment above is true I can confirm this.

The John Lewis one doesnt include any glasses they say - but not sure if Samsung includes 2 in the box? Torn between the glasses and the quarantee!

How is this one a hotdeal and the post i made 2 days ago freezing - it's the same deal. I didn't think dupes were allowed?

Hehe, i think you must be right ...

i bought this TV on 24th Dec , 1 Pair of 3D Classes included in TV Box and 1 they giving seprate ( so 4 3D Glasses total worth £59/£60) .

Great TV , LED , 3D is not that great but worth as this got Freview HD , WIFI built in , 400 Hertz.

Some guy posted this on a similar deal, and it's about this TV:

Samsung Series D6000 3D TVs have a permanent defect in that 3D is SD not … Samsung Series D6000 3D TVs have a permanent defect in that 3D is SD not HD. This will not be rectified by software updates. For further details:http://www.avforums.com/forums/lcd-led-lcd-tvs/1520482-important-ue40d6530-3d-information.htmlNote that all 3D Series D6000 TVs are affected, not just the D6530.Excellent 2D performance. But if you want 3D in HD, avoid this TV

I realise now why this TV is so cheap!

I got this a week ago. replacement for last years faulty model.
I have to say I've not had a chance to try the 3d.

but the faults relating to my replacement are still present in this model!!!
1- it loses some picture settings when you switch off the tv. probably fine for most but I like the picture the way I want it. ie; not as it looks each time I switch it on...
2- auto dimming. the led dimming with dark screens. you can't defeat this feature, even though this unit actually has it in the menu...

the picture is slightly better than the last model regarding SD, HD is same as before.
sound - last years model had a sort of bass speaker in the back - this has been removed. slightly worse sound.
this model is not as slim as last years...
the stand is very ugly. my unit has a silver foot! yuck
HD is brilliant for me.
SD is good/ok
3D, sorry no idea... I saw all of 5seconds, it looked ok to me but I was too busy to look.
2 sets of glasses in my box

not sure the picture is right on the site.hope the link works, there are several feet options for this tv. some are very ugly, like the 6530 I have, huge silver foot. not black:

Has anyone purchased this from John Lewis? Wondered if there were any glasses in the box? Also has anyone tested the 2d to 3d conversion please?

Banned

Plasma is better than LCD for 3D due to the refresh rates. You're less likely to get crosstalk with plasma.

been watching the 6000 series and the 8000 series for a while now, and only a week ago these tvs were a lot cheaper, you £150 cash back on the 8k,(46inch) and that was on a list price £1499 and even a 15tv discount code to boot,
Smaller amounts on the 6530, that still put them under what they are showing now in the sale
i have give this one heat as it is a cheaper price, than previous but no blue ray/skype,megamind packs, etc
btw the smart samsung remote don’t work with the 6530 and the phone apps only do half the job, so a bit clumsy on the web with the remote

I am a bit surprised at this as Avatar in 3D certainly looks every bit as sharp as 2D 1080 resolution movies.

Have you tried the 2d to 3d Jefft?

Does anyone know of any other tv that has this sort of look without the 3d and Smart facility? Not sure how much we would use these but looking for a good looking tv with excellent picture.

Funny isn't it. Added heat to yours.
Bought one anyway.

Regarding all the negative 3d comments, surely if you transmit 2 pictures on one channel with the same bandwidth you must compromise on resolution somewhere?

is the power cord at the back of the 6530 detachable or fixed into the set?

detacheable, a regular wire that would go in the video or dvd player? I dont know the name.

The narrow frame/bezel makes the tv feel much smaller than my previous set from last year, which had a very wide frame, more than an inch thinkness, in comparison I could now get the 42in version of this telly to fit in the same space.

Don't they just do the 40" and 46" of this? Going to order mine from John Lewis tomorrow. Pity I cant afford the 46"!

I bought this TV from Currys for the same price with 4 3D glasses included. Two in the box and two separately from the store. Now to the experience. I would say this TV is simply awesome. I am not able to understand the avsforum's comment on 3D not being HD. If you have HD 3D content it plays that as such. I did play a few from the web and they are just awesome. They are certainly not downgraded to SD. Tried 2D to 3D as well. I won;t say it is excellent and is comparable to native 3D. But above average. In built browser is very much functional. But you have to use a smartphone remote app to type fast. The remote control will not be of much help. And the next thing is the navaigation across the tool bar controls is slow. Though manual says embedded video's will not be played, it does play them. I am happy with this.
