Would be all over this if it had USB-C

Not to be confused with the LS34J550 model that has a refresh rate of 60hz.
Wow that's a good price! Paid £330 for mine a few weeks ago. Lovely display.
I believe one HDMI port is only 50hz when I last had this monitor. Need use other HDMI if you achieve 60hz, or use display port
Looking good!
I have this monitor as my 2nd monitor very nice for money
Curved (amazon.co.uk/gp/…c=1)
or
Flat ?

Any recommendations at this size ?
Nice, but having now compared a similar curved screen, am holding out for a curved option around this price. Heat still given!
getknk20/07/2020 12:38

Same here

Whats the closest option currently for a decent high-res monitor with usb-c?
Nice but curved are much better imo this you will be looking left and right because its Flat with no curve
idontflycathay20/07/2020 11:43

Thanks @Frank30uk . Did you go for that Samsung misprice previously?

I got that 27" Samsung model that you posted as a misprice. It`s brilliant, one dead pixel but not an issue to me. Thanks again for that

Yeah, got one too but not for myself and no dead pixel i think. Really nice monitor. If you did have a crt one before like I previously envisaged I can imagine it would have been a major step up.

Yes, it`s a huge jump. My old Monitor was a 22" CRT
VA panel for anyone else who is also looking for IPS and doesn't want to parse all the information.
Great deal, been waiting for one of these! Thanks

Can I ask why?

I'm not very upto date when it comes to monitors. What does usb-c bring that hdmi or display port doesn't?

Thanks.

Some reasons which I've posted in another thread

- Single interface for multiple devices
- newer Macbook direct connectivity without dongles
- Daisy chaining of displays
- multiple facilities (literally one cable for power, displays, sound, mobile charging, wired internet, other devices etc)
- Usbc is becoming more common, standard (rather than Dp, hdmi as they only for media ) and futuristic
- supports high data transmission, hence 4k etc

Nothing aside from ultimate convenience really. I have a work and personal MacBook Pro and having just one USB-C connector I can use for both makes life super easy. Plus some monitors with USB-C even charge my MacBook at the same time too!

it’s not the same as a kettle lead. A converter would be easiest
Can this also be used to play PS4 on?

Looking at this picture the pins to go into your wall power outlet might be built straight into the power adapter rather than having the additional power cable you are thinking of

I appreciate the help. Usually the DC power supply unit has a clover connector to make it easier for different countries ?

I see above there is a DC power box with a separate power plug connector which can be interchanged

If you do find the appropriate UK plug that would work with this monitor, could you post on here with a link? thanks!
What are the viewing angles like on this monitor compared with IPS ?

Are we ever likely to see an IPS panel with these specs and price, or is that just unrealistic?
A Newby at this! If in the UK how do you set up an account for Amazon Spain and delivery to a UK address? Doesn’t accept as I am not resident in Spain

Probably not for this low but for £50 more definitely.
The price of monitors seems to be returning to normality recently.
Prices had sky rocketed due to the corona virus.
Prices on Amazon UK are much higher than the rest of Amazon Europe.

Xiaomi launched a high spec 34 inch ultrawide recently. 144 Hz, IPS, it should be available for 350 pounds I'd say.

Is that is one? anandtech.com/sho…399
That looks perfect, but then I read in that article it's a VA panel. "The 34” panel comes at a resolution of 3440 x 1440 and is of a VA type that is speculated to be manufactured by Samsung Display". I understand VA is better than TN, but not as good as IPS. Or is it all sort of becoming good enough now? I had a twin U2415 setup and now I want something bigger and faster, but I still want good colour

Yes ,that is the one .You are right it is VA, the review I read was inaccurate it said it was IPS.
Personally I prefer IPS screens over VA ,the viewing angles tend to be better ,the colors are better too ,the picture doesnt look washed out .
VA panels are cheaper to produce so manufacturers push them .
There are hardly any 32 inch 4k IPS monitors under £500,its all VA .
IPS options for Ultrawide monitors are better though.

Did anyone buy this monitor? How do you take off the European plug off the power supply? Once it’s on it’s so hard to take off. I didn’t want to put too much force on it to risk breaking it.
41479464-xWeAY.jpgMine arrived today, it seems it has a Euro socket bit that fits on. Anyone know if its possible to ge tthe UK socket bit that clicks on (instead of the euro one in the bag) ?
