My useless, unreliable, Panasonic Combo M/Wave finally broke after just completing 6 years service.
The M/wave inverter part blew out. It also cracked two door skins in that time span - time to throw it out.

Spotted these SAMSUNG MC35J8085CT 35l combo M/waves, on Currys website, released at the end of 2015 in UK- so right up to date technology!
Feature packed, too many to list, including switch turntable on/off, switch off the dinger noise too! Wahoo!.
50 odd auto-cook progs included.

One other great feature is eco-mode.
You can either switch all electrics use off immediately (except for running clock) or it switches itself off after 20mins after detecting no activity - Brilliant feature!

Warning. top of outer case may arrive & look damaged in transit but its metal is made so thin, you can just press minor dents (where they packed stuff on top) straight out with thumb/fingers! No problem! Samsung need to do a review of their packaging!

70% off?
They are selling in Europe/Germany for in excess of 400-500 Euros.
It's sister model (without the dials) has a price tag of £499.00 on Samsung.UK.

I've had a couple of days use and Combo works very well!
It has also won top reviews from UK Michelin chefs (beating Panasonic, Russel Hobbs latest releases etc) & won top Tech design awards in USA for Hot blast fanned convection process end of last year!

I'd already saved up over £250 for a decent M/wave.
So good (& such a great price) I bought a spare 2nd (free delivery) - get in before they run out!

Blimey, your microwave really got the hump. What did you say to it to get it so upset?
Cheers op, just what I was looking for. Unbelievable price

Well it proves Panasonic (China-made) are no longer all they're 'cracked up' to be!
Their new type of Microwaving is NOT BUILT TO LAST!

My old Sharp-combo went for 24 years before needing replacement, so I deliberately went back to the old Magnetron 900w models.
Can anyone recommend a decent black electric single oven to go with this? Around the same price as this would be ideal!

But be aware that 4 out of 5 of those reviews are from people who received the microwave free of charge in exchange for a review.

Thanks. Just surprised I couldn't find a single, proper review.

Yes, I thought the same too.
worth a punt, just what I need. Thanks.
"My useless, unreliable, Panasonic Combo M/Wave finally broke after just completing 6 years service".
Two observations here:
1. Op seems VERY unhappy at ONLY getting 6 years service out of an appliance. High expectations much!?
2. Bet they're single.....or their partner is wishing they were!!

Hi
I won't use those dodgy "3rd party" review sites many major sites use - like Currys, so no review, their loss!

What do you need to know whilst dithering & asking - "shall I splash out £140 (£8 delivery superb DPD one hr time slot) on a Combo that normally sells for £100's more (at no risk as I can send it back)?

HOT! Similar one at ao.com is £499, slightly different model, is this a fitted microwave or can it be freestanding? if so, I might order!

The width is 526mm so not really the ideal size for a built in oven.

Installation instructions state the following:

Select a flat, level surface
approx. 85 cm above the floor.
The surface must support the
weight of the oven.
• Secure room for ventilation, at
least 10 cm from the rear wall
and both sides, and 20 cm from
above.
• Do not install the oven in hot or
damp surroundings, such as next
to other microwave ovens or
radiators.

As far as I can see there is no mention that this is a unit designed to be built in. Even Curry's don't list it under their in-built microwaves.

Defo not a built in oven, just think of it as a huge microwave/grill/oven.

I've just ordered it, was gonna buy a standard one but not a huge difference in price so will give this a go

Hello,
100% Correct - it sits on top of kitchen units (on the work-surface) and is high enough to get underneath to clear spills & crumbs!
If you look at Currys site video you can see the Combo's feet. Nice & heavy so it doesn't slide around like other too!
Actually its not hoooge, no bigger than my previous 27L.

Just built taller and a smarter layout inside with a nice big Turntable.
You should be pleased with what you get for your dosh!

this is the same as the MC35J8088LT which is selling for £450 - £499. Samsung only changed the two dials to touch controls which allowed them to shave a little of the depth and the MC35J8088LT comes with a steam accessory which, if you really wanted, you could buy a third party one. Just check out the user manuals and specs on samsungs website and compare the two.

I'm struggling for reviews, too! Has anyone that's bought it been impressed?! Was it ever worth £499? Thanks!

I've got one, only taken it out of the box to have a look, it's massive. Not sure if I'm gonna keep it, will take up a lot of worktop space

£400 plus is an Absolute rip-off!
Maybe Samsung-Tata & the Asians realise not selling any units in UK for nearly a year - they demanded too much!
Hence lack of sales = no reviews.

Don't listen to that "Guido" masked poster - the footprint of the Samsung Combo oven is Exactly the same as my old Panasonic 27L combo.
Samsung just made the Combo oven taller by a few inches by moving the touch-controls on top!

Using your old Panasonic oven as a reference to size doesn't help anyone who doesn't have your old Panasonic oven does it?

I'm not replacing a microwave or combo oven so to me this Samsung oven looks massive.

I don't even believe you bought it, you troll - Guido!

You have had ALL measurements/specs on hand to view on Currys & Samsung UK sites.

I am just pointing out to others reading the thread, your totally misleading words "Combo is massive" can't be further from the truth.

It will fit in a normal kitchen work top space that a 27L combo takes, except its a couple of inches taller due to the input panel being moved to the top.
END.

Yes, you got me. I didn't even buy it....

You having "Beef" over Bank holiday by any chance?

Curry's completely sold out in UK, with straight 10's given on review - be glad you did get one!

Calm down; everyone is entitled to an opinion. I decided not to order because of the size and how it would look on the counter top.

I'm glad you and the one person who left the review on the website like it at least.
