I'd go for this over an inkjet any day - of course no colour, but do you really want to print photo's yourself?

Does this print in colour.

Does this print in colour.

I think the number of colours 1, might answer this!

It is mono, it is a fantastic little printer, wife bought one last week for her part time job as she needs to print more and more, the epson all in one she has is stupidly expensive to run.

I read all the reviews on this printer i could and to be honest i was sceptical...wow was i wrong...it is very quick printing, quality is exceptional and was a doddle to setup to.

Bought from Robrt dyas for £44 something.

yeah this is about normal price

exactly, i have 2 printers

a samsung ml3051n network mono laser - carts are £45 for 7000 pages
a hp network all in one printer/photo/copier/fax colour inkjet - carts are £40 for 300 pages

guess which gets 1000 times more use

poor deal anyway...my samsung is a far better spec and was about same price as this 3 years ago

if you want a mono laser that is cheap and reliable and fairly cheap to run at this price point then nothing comes anywhere near close to samsung mono lasers

OK then, I'll bite. Exactly how is this a poor deal, and where is there a better one; today, not 3 years ago.

these are really good and you get about 1000 prints off the toner they supply you.

My ML-1210 is still going strong after 10 years, can't fault it!

ordered one, thanks

when i need to, where can I buy replacement toner from and how much is it?

There's an eBay seller I get mine from called Ink Power, very cheap and last for ages. Very good service too

whats the part number/code for the specific replacement we need

£35 at pixmania, but £14 for delivery ?!

Not true at all. I have a HP 1022 which does 5,000 pages for less than £10 using a remanufactured toner. I also have another HP business laser which cost me £22 on ebay which I bid on and won and that does 12,000 pages for around £10 and prints at 25ppm. The going rate is around £80 - £100 usually on ebay for the printer. £45 for 7,000 pages seems truly horrendous compared to the two printers I've cited. You can't get either of mine new, but they clearly thrash this Samsung cost wise. Anyway just a thought if you don't mind second user printers. the HP 1022 cost me nothing as I got it free from freegle.

Good printer deal.

You do what every one else does and look for toners using google. Unless somebody knows the price of all toners from all suppliers by heart, then this searching is a necessary inconvenience.

You're comparing OEM prices with 3rd party ones I run my samsung for pennies but that's not comparing a Samsung price with an HP price per page so hardly a fair comparison also you're comparing OLD printers with a new one. If you buy toner in for your old printers and they break that's your toner spunked up the wall. Fair enough they're cheap to run but you can't rubbish a deal by saying buy a second hand one that's the most ridiculous argument i've heard on here tbh and i've seen a few!

Seeing as you're banging on about prices lets compare the OFFICIAL prices for imagine carts/toner

HP 1022 HP12A toner cart 2000 pages - £63
Samsung £51 1500 pages

HP 3.15p/page
Samsung 3.4p/page

So on official figures it's neglible the cost difference and the potential savings of having a printer under warranty more than cover the difference

Can't see anything for the ML-1665

Just ordered this and the code still works Printer has had great reviews so fingers crossed!

Tried ordering one last night 18th 10pm code didn't work then for me, anyway for £45 still cheap printer, I did a web collect thing and picked it up today, however I have noticed that I actually got a ML-1660 and NOT a ML-1665. I phoned Comet and they said that they all have ML-1660 on the box but are in fact ML-1665 in the box and to check the back of the printer (spec plate thingy) but even that says ML-1660 can anyone confirm they actually got an ML-1665. The only difference I can see is that is has a black body and cream/black coloured top? /confused.

Looks the same to me...

Yep that's what I thought just didn't want to loose out on a slight upgrade, plus getting what I paid for.

Nice, I'm picking mine up today.

Have mine now from the Reading - Forbury branch.
It's the ML-1660 (cream top).
The chap was confused when I pointed out that it was a different model because it was scanning as the ML-1665.
I'd have preferred an all black but they had no ML-1665 models left apart from the display one but I didn't want that.
Well after much debate he concluded that they were only getting ML-1660s in from now on.

Managed to get it up and running super quick once I found the appropriate USB cable (not supplied).
I didn't bother with the supplied CD. Just downloaded the latest driver including smart panel from here instead and ran that. Better to know you're running the latest drivers.

Everything worked perfectly.
