Lowest price I've noticed for this highly recommended netbook (presumably clearing the XP stocks). No doubt the HUKD community will tell me if I'm right or wrong! Hope it helps someone.

you are wrong ... and why doesn't this come with free dancing girls or a clown that can make balloon animals ... terrible deal

NB: good price really

[FONT=Verdana]There is another deal , which is slightly cheaper but this is dependent upon whether the discount code works and also the cashback comes through.

Actually you can run windows 7 (provided that they are the basic / home premium versions) on 512meg ram, I am running it on one ov my olda pc's 8-)

Windows 7 works suberb with 1gig ram

windows 7 will indeed work with 1gb of ram but having used it windows xp is still a better operating system for this kind of machine imo.

£239 at Argos for a black one.

The Argos one is only 3 cell battery. Avoid that one.

And I'm running Windows 7 beautifully with 1GB RAM. Not noticed any slowdown over XP at all.

thinking of doing an install on my NC10 with windows 7, might be more trouble than it's worth. You can get a 2Gb stick for about £15 if you wanna upgrade. Made mine much quicker for multitasking, and even a bit of photo editing. Got CS2 working on it quite smoothly.

I tried Crucial and they quoted around £35 for the 2GB memory. Where did you see the £15 ?

I'm not, quite sure what that link is supposed to tell me except to support what I originally said:

" If you want to run Windows 7 on your PC, here's what it takes:

*

1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
*

1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)"

They must have changed the price again, as it was at £259.99p last week (via another deal thread) and then dropped down to £249.99p (this was listed on a Misc thread, were a member was asking whether they could get the £10.00p difference back from Amazon UK).

Unfortunately it looks like all of the memory is going up in price :x - you might want to consider checking out Crucial UK for memory, as generally they are reasonable in terms of cost (when compared against this one).

;-)

Awesome deal, I got one from amazon a few weeks back for ~£260 and am very happy with it. I didn't expect a netbook to be able to run multiple programs at once, but I run office, firefox, steam etc all at the same time without any slow down. I've even played Guild Wars on it at a playable frame rate!

Further reduced to £238.76!

Would I be right in thinking that there no £20 cash back with this offer ?
